Synopsis

In a city that never sleeps, Cami and Paul found Rey, a lively puppy destined for greatness as a Therapy Superhero. The moment Rey stepped into his new home, a warm embrace from Cami and Paul told him he was where he belonged.

Their first big outing was a trip to a bustling mall. Though initially overwhelmed, Rey found comfort knowing Cami was by his side. Together, they navigated the sensory overload, making it an exercise in resilience and community-building.

Next came the "elevator odyssey," a vertical journey that had Rey briefly anxious but ultimately fascinated by the new worlds it opened up for him. At schools and kindergartens, he became more than just a pet; he was a friend and a symbol of empathy. When shy Lily questioned if Rey was there to learn, Cami responded, "Rey is here to be your friend and make learning fun!" Rey's tail wagged in agreement.

His unique "Empathy Paw" came into play when they met the "Special Warriors," children dealing with big challenges. Rey had a knack for offering hugs just when they were needed most, embodying kindness as a true superpower.

Some days, the duo would wind down at their Healing Hub, a sanctuary where distressed kids found solace through Rey's empathic abilities. But one special day stood out: an ice cream day under the blue sky. As they savored each spoonful, Cami and Rey realized that sometimes, life’s smallest joys can mean the most.

They also took part in a community fair, reuniting with the "Special Warriors" and learning that courage and love have many faces. As each day closed, the trio—Cami, Paul, and Rey—would cuddle on their couch, grateful for the love and the difference they had made. Rey dozed off content, eager for another day of small but heroic adventures.

Dramatically converted on the stormy seas, a slave-trader-turned-abolitionist penned the best-loved hymn of the Christian faith. A church father was arrested and martyred for teaching the truth about Christ's incarnation. Captured by pirates and shipped off to Ireland, a priest baptized thousands of pagans, from paupers to princes. Now who ever said church history was boring?
The Church History ABCs is a fun way for kids to learn about great figures in Christian history. Twenty-six heroes of the faith march through the alphabet, boldly telling their stories in language children can understand. This wide range of characters—men and women from across the centuries, from all over the globe—reflects the breadth of church history and reminds children that these great figures of the past were living, breathing people who lived and died for the glory of God.

Small Town by Philip K. Dick - The theme of "the man who played God" has been used many ways in many stories, but never with more tense and chilling effect than in this tight little yarn by the very able Mr. Dick. You'll like it, we're sure.
Verne Haskel crept miserably up the front steps of his house, his overcoat dragging behind him. He was tired. Tired and discouraged. And his feet ached. "My God," Madge exclaimed, as he closed the door and peeled off his coat and hat. "You home already?"
Haskel dumped his briefcase and began untying his shoes. His body sagged. His face was drawn and gray.
    "Say something!"
    "Dinner ready?"
"No, dinner isn't ready. What's wrong this time? Another fight with Larson?"
Haskel stumped into the kitchen and filled a glass with warm water and soda. "Let's move," he said.
    "Move?"
"Away from Woodland. To San Francisco. Anywhere." Haskel drank his soda, his middle-aged flabby body supported by the gleaming sink. "I feel lousy. Maybe I ought to see Doc Barnes again. I wish this was Friday and tomorrow was Saturday."
"What do you want for dinner?"
    "Nothing. I don't know."
