Synopsis

In "The Girl Aviators' Sky Cruise," Margaret Burnham weaves a captivating tale of adventure and camaraderie as it chronicles the exploits of young female aviators embarking on an extraordinary journey through the skies. Set against the backdrop of the early 20th century, the narrative is rich with vivid descriptions of aviation technology and the exhilarating sensations of flight. Admired for its engaging dialogue and character development, Burnham's work innovatively blends elements of coming-of-age themes with the spirit of exploration, appealing to readers' imaginations while also reflecting early feminist ideals prevalent during this literary period. Margaret Burnham, an author who emerged during a transformative era for women, was profoundly influenced by the burgeoning aviation industry and the increasing visibility of women in traditionally male-dominated fields. Her own fascination with flight and the pursuit of independence likely inspired her to create a narrative that celebrates the aspirations and achievements of young women aviation pioneers. Through her writing, Burnham captures the zeitgeist of an age where boundaries were being challenged, making her work both relevant and inspiring. I highly recommend "The Girl Aviators' Sky Cruise" to readers of all ages who seek a thrilling adventure that not only entertains but also instills a sense of empowerment. This book serves as a remarkable reminder of the resilience and spirit of young women breaking barriers in pursuit of their dreams. Burnham's vivid storytelling and compelling characters will leave readers eager for more of their airborne escapades.

One year in the springtime of long ago, while the boys were fishing along side the river bank, a great storm was brewing all around the Christmas Mountains. In all the confusion, Keeper is swept far away in his tiny wooden fishing boat, only to drift ashore on the banks of an mysterious new world known as the isle of Ireland.
Keeper is lovingly taken in and raised by the Leprechauns, the indigenous peoples of this mysterious land. They soon come to recognize the magical powers he already possess, and eventually appoint him apprentice Master of Leprechauns, teaching him all of their secrets. It was all very confusing, the reasons for the war, the nature of the enemy. The Yucconae had been contacted on one of the outlying planets of Proxima Centauri. At the approach of the Terran ship, a host of dark slim pencils had lifted abruptly and shot off into the distance. The first real encounter came between three of the yuk pencils and a single exploration ship from Terra. No Terrans survived. After that it was all out war, with no holds barred. Now though, the Yucks had made their mine fields sentient, they could seek out and destroy Terran ships. The only response was to put a human brain into a ship. The results were, to say the least, surprising to everyone. No one expected what would happen. Least of all the generals who thought up the idea. The human brain in the spaceship had ideas of his own and they did not include listening to the generals.
