Beschreibung
Bulgarian Danayl (Belya) Kyustendilski looks back upon the events of his life working as a T.I.R. driver across Europe since 1987 up to the present day. Travelling and slipping over borders all over the continent, Danayl spends several months at a time on the road away from his loved ones, witnessing firsthand the effects of historical changes in post-communism Bulgaria when back at home. His journey on the road is packed with a broad variety of mishaps and adventures along the way, and at once the driver resembles a juggler—always seeking balance to navigate his way through all kinds of unforeseen obstacles. At times, with a bit of luck, some good friends and a solid comradeship the job is done; at others, hard earned experience is the only thing that can help prevent disaster. An incredible real-life tale seen through the eyes of a genuine man, which begins with a broken nose.My name is Hristo Andonov. I was born on April 8, 1967 in Sofia, Bulgaria. I am married; I have three children and five grandchildren. I majored in Electronic Engineering with a focus on microelectronics, but I have limited professional experience in the field. Since 1989 I have worked as a Transit International Road driver and, with a few short pauses, I have been doing this job for almost 35 years. I play eleven musical instruments and write my own music and lyrics. I am a really good cook and with enough spare parts I am able to fix almost any home appliance. I have been living in Waterford, Ireland for 13 years now.Profession T.I.R. Driver or Saga for Five Hundred Horses and One Donkey tells the vicissitudes in the life of T.I.R. driver Danayl Kyustendilski, living across Europe since 1987 up to the present day.
