In the far reaches of the galaxy, Ranger Group 42 is all that stands between lawless chaos and fragile order. Led by the seasoned Colonel Jack Stone, the team is sent on a covert mission to a remote colony on the brink of collapse under the ruthless control of the Black Ring—a deadly pirate syndicate with ties to powerful corporations.
When their ship, The Colt, is shot down, the Rangers find themselves stranded, cut off from reinforcements, and outnumbered by a brutal enemy. With limited supplies and no means of communication, they must fight to survive, protect the colonists, and stop the Black Ring from launching a galaxy-shattering offensive.
Facing hostile terrain, ruthless enemies, and a ticking clock, the Rangers must rely on their wits, weapons, and each other to prevent an interstellar disaster. Failure isn’t an option. For Ranger Group 42, this isn’t just another mission—it’s a battle for survival.
In this war, no one is coming to save them.

The Flying Stars” is one of Chesterton’s mysteries featuring Father Brown. It’s actually the first of these short stories I’ve read and I picked it up more because it’s a Christmas mystery than to meet Father Brown, even though he is a character I’d like to read more of.
The story takes place at an English manor home on Boxing Day. A young lady and the young man who lives next door are present, as is the girl’s father, Colonel Adams, a newly arrived uncle and a quite rich godfather. Also present, in addition to the servants, simply because the Colonel likes his company is the local priest, Father Brown. The godfather has brought a gift for the young lady, a set of three gorgeous, large diamonds, which he has tucked away in his coat pocket.
