Synopsis

Apollonius of Tyana, an extraordinary figure of an initiate, magician, and prophet who lived in the first century AD, remains a great enigma in history, especially when we consider that his existence was parallel and analogous to that of another man who undoubtedly influenced the human affairs of the last two millennia: Jesus, called the Christ. The birth of Apollonius, whose life is narrated to us by Flavius Philostratus, can most likely be placed in 4 BC in Tyana, Asia Minor. The event, as the sources tell us, was preceded by portents and miracles, and it is said that before Apollonius came into the world, a splendid apparition appeared before his mother, revealing that the son she was expecting would be an incarnation of the Titan God Prometheus, the savior of humanity.Apollonius lacked the martyrdom of the cross, but everywhere, in the places he had passed through and preached, temples and statues were erected in his honor. His fame had reached every province of the Roman Empire, and his preachings, teachings, and miracles were spoken of everywhere. In fact, there were not a few who could testify to having seen him exorcise the possessed, heal the lame and the sick, and even bring the dead back to life.In light of all this, it should not be surprising that Christianity attempted by all means to erase from history the memory and events of such an extraordinary figure, who was too similar to its Messiah.

    Lesbian Love Addiction -...

Love addiction for lesbians comes in many forms. Some struggle by sexually acting out and others are serial relationship junkies, jumping from one relationship into the next. Some are addicted to the high of falling in love and once that wears off don't know how to handle the day-to-day realities of a committed relationship. Some are even addicted to fantasy and intrigue, while others are love avoidants and sexual anorexics. Love avoidants may be able to get into a relationship but once they are fully committed, struggle with feeling smothered. Others may avoid intimate or sexual relationships all together, becoming sexually anorexic. Some may even vacillate between all of these. The underlying component and common denominator in all of these scenarios is the "Urge to Merge."

Lesbian Love Addiction: Understanding the Urge to Merge and How to Heal When Things go Wrong is designed to help ameliorate at least part of this problem. It will give those who struggle with and suffer from love addiction ways to understand, cope, and heal from this debilitating addiction. It will give those who work with this population new tools to use to do this more effectively. Mostly, it will help lesbians understand their relationship failures and how to heal from problems associated with them, so they may grow and cultivate happier, more fulfilling connections in the future.

In 1988, Judge Joe O'Kicki was regarded by his peers as one of the most brilliant legal minds in the United States. He was newly remarried, sworn in as the president judge of a Pennsylvania county and on the fast track to a federal bench . . .

Silently, however, a state police vice unit was in the midst of covert operation into O'Kicki's personal affairs. The judge would be accused of soliciting bribes, frequenting brothels, and running the county as if he were a "battleship commander." Later he'd concoct a plan to flee the country and exact revenge on his enemies.

Set in the aftermath of the 1977 Johnstown flood and including courtroom testimony, the memos of whistleblowers, contemporary interviews, and excerpts from O'Kicki's unfinished tell-all memoir, Jailing the Johnstown Judge is a fresh examination of the extraordinary western Pennsylvania case that attained international infamy.
