Sinossi

In "A New Name," Grace Livingston Hill crafts a poignant narrative that intertwines themes of redemption, faith, and identity within the context of early 20th-century American society. Through the story of a young woman'Äôs transformation as she navigates personal trials and societal expectations, Hill employs a lyrical prose style infused with a sense of urgency and hope. The novel reflects the author's deep-seated beliefs in the power of love and the moral fortitude required to rise above one's past, aligning with the burgeoning genre of Christian fiction that emerged during that period in America. Hill, often heralded as one of the pioneers of Christian romance, drew inspiration from her own experiences and theological convictions. Born into a devout family and having faced personal adversities, her works encapsulate a profound insight into the struggles of her characters, revealing a compassionate perspective toward the flaws and resilience of human nature. Hill's writing not only entertains but also serves as a spiritual guide, leading readers toward introspection and faith. This novel is highly recommended for readers seeking a heartwarming exploration of second chances and the transformative power of grace. Hill'Äôs engaging storytelling invites readers to reflect on their own identities and the possibility of renewal, making "A New Name" a timeless addition to the shelves of anyone who appreciates literature that inspires hope and reformation.

Diversity is a high value for younger generations—but too often, they're not finding it in the church.
Emerging generations in the West are more diverse than ever—ethnically, socioeconomically, educationally, and politically. And as church attendance among younger generations declines rapidly, research shows that one of their primary sticking points is the lack of diversity in most churches.
In Church for Everyone, pastors Dan Kreiss and Efrem Smith address this phenomenon head-on. In this research-based, theologically informed, and practical book, they explore the younger generations' expectations and disappointments with church and hold out a vision for true diversity taken from the pages of Scripture. As experienced church leaders themselves, Kreiss and Smith share a wealth of practical experience and stories from the trenches of multiethnic ministry.
The good news is that God has already called the church to diversity. As we seek to live out this calling in our own local contexts, we can become the demonstration of God's love for all humanity that he has designed the church to be—and that the younger generation is so desperately looking for.
