Beschreibung

Before publishing the complete and voluminous exposition I prepared on acupuncture, with precise translations of the Chinese texts, references and quotations, I decided, in order to answer the questions of many physicians, to describe here the essential part of the method, the main points, and the way to treat some diseases, in front of which Europe is more or less unarmed. The public, on the other hand, by means of this volume, will be able to distinguish, among the physicians who practice acupuncture, those who have drawn on the sources, and those who, given the great development taken by this method, pretend to apply it without having studied it, relying either honestly on suggestion, or, less honestly, on the ignorance of their clientele or even on the power of publicity. In fact, since I was the first to introduce in France the method of needles and "Moxa", which I had studied in China since 1901, thus enabling scholars in America and Europe who had only vague and confused ideas about the method to put it into practice, the experiments have multiplied more and more. Success was confirmed. It could no longer be ignored.

Summary: What Happened to You? (Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Perry)
You are likely to be familiar with the question, “What’s wrong with you?” We've all encountered it at some point, and most likely, we've asked it ourselves. But have you ever considered that this might be the wrong question to ask?
In a powerful and compelling conversation, Oprah and Dr. Perry discuss the importance of our past in shaping us and why asking “What’s wrong with you?” might be an unhelpful and misguided question. They propose shifting the focus to “What happened to you?” instead. This may seem simple, but it has been groundbreaking in changing the way we understand and think about trauma, which in turn has offered a significantly more optimistic approach to recovery.
Asking “What happened to you?” also removes any unintentional blame or fault directed toward any traumatized individual. It favors a compassionate, empathetic approach to therapy and healing. But this is just one of the core messages of Oprah and Dr. Perry’s book.
“Summary: What Happened to You?” provides you with all the powerful ideas, practices, and concepts that Oprah and Dr. Perry discuss in their original book.
You'll get:A complete breakdown of the original covering the most essential aspects of it in a concise, clear, and easy-to-read format—without missing anything important!Explanations of key brain systems and processes from a world-leading neuroscientist and trauma specialist.Information on different methods of trauma treatment.A powerful combination of storytelling and the latest research on neuroscience and traumatology.Shocking facts about trauma. And much more!
While it is beneficial to have read their original work, it’s not compulsory, as this summary will provide you with all the information you need. Don't miss out on the combined wisdom of these two giants.

American evangelicals, especially dispensationalists, have a tendency to whitewash whatever the modern Israeli government does, owing to a supposed identification of contemporary Israel with the Israel of the Old Testament and biblical prophecy. So concerned about this was the late President Sadat of Egypt that he invited Dr. Montgomery and five other evangelical leaders to meet with him to provide a more balanced picture. In this lecture, Dr. Montgomery offers an in-depth analysis based both upon Scripture and upon the human rights record of modern Israel vis-à-vis the Palestinian problem and the Near East situation in general.

    ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski presents a complex narrative, intertwining multiple stories. The main plot follows a family, the Navidsons, who discover that their house on Ash Tree Lane is larger on the inside than the outside. This leads them down a path of exploration into the strange, shifting interior of the house. Simultaneously, a character named Johnny Truant becomes obsessed with a manuscript by a deceased man named Zampanò which documents the Navidsons' story, as well as a mysterious film called "The Navidson Record". Johnny's investigation into the manuscript blurs the lines of reality, as he deals with his own struggles and relationships. The book explores themes of space, perception, the uncanny, and the psychological impact of obsession, through a fragmented and unreliable narrative. The story leaves many questions unanswered about the nature of the house and the characters, creating a sense of unease and ambiguity.
