Beschreibung

Featuring voices from the contemporary witchcraft community, A Confluence of Witches is an invitation to explore the authentic intersections of magic, spirituality, personal development, and social justice.A Confluence of Witches aims to highlight how witchcraft has always been a diverse, constantly evolving, culturally specific practice with many lineages and rich traditions. It features essays, spells, and reflections from witches, traditional healers, herbalists, and artists on themes of magical activism, animism, and merging ancient practices with modern technologies, among other mystical subjects. The diverse representation of contributors will honor and celebrate the multicultural and multivalent ways that the witch operates within our society.   With an increased interest in and practice of witchcraft comes a greater need for authentic sources of wisdom that are culturally relevant and sensitive to the many lineages and traditions of witchcraft, healing work, and magic. A Confluence of Witches provides insights and perspectives from a diverse range of people who in one form or another identify as a “witch.” The anthology’s contributors are diverse, representing the African diaspora, Indigenous, Latine, and Romani traditions, as well as voices from the LGBTQ witch community—each with their own sacred blend of spirituality to share. These voices come together to illuminate the multitude of ways one can practice.   Contributors to this anthology include: adrienne maree brown, Aja Daashuur, Alejandra Luisa León, Amanda Yates Garcia, Angela Mary Magick, Ariella Daly, Aurora Luna (aka)Baby Reckless, Damiana Calvario, Dori Midnight, Edgar Fabián Frías, Eliza Swann, Jessie Susannah Karnatz, Jezmina Von Thiele, Kiki Robinson, Kimberly Rodriguez, Liz Migliorelli, Madre Jaguar, Maria Minnis, Olivia Ephraim Pepper, Rachel Howe, Sanyu Estelle, Star Feliz

I’ve been in a loving relationship with my husband for over 10 years…but that ends today.
We opened a successful restaurant together. He’s the love of my life.
    Well, he used to be.

We have to compete for it.
Now he laughs while we perform for him. We desecrate our marriage for his sick amusement. We siphon cash from our business and spank each other to show loyalty.

Unlike people with carefree previous lives, I packed away my past. There are some memories labeled 'Look at', and others 'Leave well alone' . . .

Emily Smith was held in a prison of fear for ten years. When she was four, her father left and a new man was brought into her life. He loved her, he kept telling her so, but the emotional and physical abuse she suffered at his hands were a daily nightmare. Until one day, after he crept into her bedroom, her life became unbearable.

Emily found she was different in another way as her autism became more noticeable and punishments for her 'abnormal' behavior more severe. Astonishingly, she managed to escape her home of hell, where she was abused right in front of her mother. Emily determinedly gained a university place and emerged triumphant with a new life and family in Ireland, desperate to treat her daughter, so similar to her, to a different life.

Heartbreakingly true, Silent Child is a testament to Emily's strength as she sheds light on rampant abuse still happening today. Powerful and shocking, sharing her story means she finally has a voice to say: enough.

    Contains mature themes.

The sacrificial nature of juggling instructional, operational, managerial, and collegial goals often leaves school leaders feeling so desperate to resolve conflicts that they lose self, abandoning their core values and forgetting their "why." In this timely and impactful resource, author and professor "Dr. O" draws on her own leadership journey—a journey where she remained true to her beliefs and commitment to serve BIPOC communities, even when that meant choosing the road less traveled—offering nine anchor principles to help guide educational leaders in returning to their core values; communicate and build trusting relationships with staff members, students, and parents; and recognize their self-worth beyond their role on school campuses.

Lead with Truth is an interactive text that invites you to identify learning objectives and reflect on guided questions throughout the chapters, geared to help you make personal connections with the content. This engaging resource is for current and aspiring school leaders who aim to make lifelong impacts and transform their practice, while remaining true to their own beliefs.

"A fast-paced, compelling narrative that goes far beyond the headlines." —KEVIN DONOVAN, author of The Billionaire Murders

For Joey Philion, surviving the fire was only the beginning.

On the morning of March 10th, 1988, in Orillia, Ontario, a house fire engulfed fourteen-year-old Joey Philion in flames. He suffered third degree burns on ninety-five percent of his body. Doctors didn't think he would make it through the night.

After the Flames is about one of the world's most famous burn victims: his incredible survival, his nightmarish path to recovery that helped revolutionize medical treatment for burn victims worldwide, the fame thrust upon him after he was declared a hero from the media, and the tumultuous years that followed, most of which were spent under the microscope of an unforgiving public eye.

The story also follows Joey's family, including his mother Linda, stepfather Mike, and younger brother Danny, all of whom endured their own tremendous hardships in the wake of a fire that changed their lives forever.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
White Lies Matter: The Gospel of MAWA isn’t just a book—it’s a sermon, a roast, and a history lesson rolled into one blistering satire of American politics. Beneath the bright red MAGA cap, the author exposes what the slogan really meant: Make America White Again.
With wit as sharp as Twain, the bite of Carlin, and the unflinching honesty of Chappelle, this audiobook takes listeners on a journey through America’s not-so-secret gospel of racial nostalgia. From the election of Barack Obama that shook the foundations of white exceptionalism, to Steve Bannon and Donald Trump baptizing a movement in fear, grievance, and privilege, WLM uncovers how the “American Dream” was fenced off and sold as exclusive property.
Each chapter functions like a scripture reading from the Church of MAWA, complete with commandments, proverbs, and revelations that peel back patriotic veneers to reveal the machinery of exclusion underneath. It’s biting, it’s funny, and it’s devastatingly honest—because America’s greatest myths are also its greatest lies.
This is not a quiet audiobook. It’s meant to provoke laughter, outrage, and reflection in equal measure. Whether you’re a believer in the gospel of MAWA or a skeptic watching from the pews, White Lies Matter insists you confront the uncomfortable truth: racism was never a glitch in the system—it was the system.
At once irreverent and illuminating, this is satire that cuts to the bone and asks the question no campaign slogan dares to touch: Whose America are we really trying to make “great” again?

Now in hiding, a former wiseguy teams up with a veteran true-crime writer to take you inside Brooklyn’s gangland at the height of its violence.   This is the true story of Carmine Imbriale—a gambler, a brawler, a bandit, a bookie, an enforcer. For two decades, Imbriale was a street-level operative in one of the most violent crews in the Colombo Family, and he endeared himself to some of the major figures of organized crime while developing deadly disputes with others. Carmine and the 13th Avenue Boys is the jarring account of his lawless lifestyle culminating in a gang war in South Brooklyn, from which he emerges a survivor.   From his first arrest at fifteem for robbing a Coney Island pimp to surviving multiple assassination attempts, Imbriale offers up dozens of too-good-to-be-true tales featuring some of the most notorious gangsters, including Joe Colombo, Christie Tick, Jimmy Ida, Joe Waverly, Sammy “The Bull” Gravano, Johnny Rizzo, as well as other lions and lackeys of La Cosa Nostra, and details a beef with none other than Greg “The Grim Reaper” Scarpa Sr.   A young streetwise hustler, Imbriale thought he found loyalty, a brotherhood. Instead, he descended into a world of treachery and deceit, where your best friend is your executioner, and no one gets out alive. But no one expected him to become the domino that helped bring it all down.
