A soft snore caught her ears, and her eyes flickered open. Brian’s face was barely more than a foot away from hers. His outflung fingers nearly brushed her face. In the light of sunrise, his hair seemed to glow like burnished copper, and his profile was somehow both gentle and stern, the face of a reluctant warrior. Oh. Her hand, unbidden, moved between her thighs. It had been so long since she’d had a man, even a man as unsatisfactory in bed as Jared had been. Can someone please turn off the sun?” Erin flipped open her sleeping bag and headed for the tent flap, hoping the smell of her own arousal wouldn’t be too obvious. “Sorry, no. I’m not one of the gods. I’m hitting the bathroom. Start breakfast, and I’ll be back in time to take over for you.”
