Synopsis

In the post-independence era, i.e. in the last 60-65 years, instead of the cause of the nation, the power-seeking politics became extremely important. The saying 'Sarve Guna: Kanchanamasrayanti' came to be regarded as a virtue. Even in such a situation, some sages, seers and legends were born who can be named in priority. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's name has to be mentioned first. By thinking radically about the life of the nation, with an open mind without any prejudice and with the sole thought of the welfare of the country in mind, he set before the country the ideal of how one can live with a clear mind even while working in the political field and presented the thought of 'Ekatma Manav Darshan' before the society. 
स्वातंत्र्योत्तर काळात म्हणजे गेल्या ६०-६५ वर्षांमध्ये राष्ट्रकारणाऐवजी सत्ताकांक्षी राजकारणालाच आत्यंतिक महत्त्व आले. 'सर्वे गुणः कांचनमाश्रयन्ति' ही उक्ती शिरोधार्य मानली जाऊ लागली. अशा परिस्थितीतही अग्रक्रमाने नाव घेता येईल असे काही ऋषितुल्य, द्रष्टे महापुरूष निर्माण झाले. त्यात पंडित दीनदयाळ उपाध्याय यांचे नाव प्रामुख्याने घ्यावे लागेल. त्यांनी राष्ट्रजीवनाचे मूलगामी चिंतन करून, मोकळ्या मनाने कोणतेही पूर्वग्रह न ठेवता आणि देशाच्या कल्याणाचा एकमात्र विचार मनात ठेवून, राजकीय क्षेत्रात काम करीत असतानाही कसे निर्मळ मनाने जगता येते ह्याचा आदर्श देशापुढे ठेवला व 'एकात्म मानव दर्शन' नावाचे विचारधन समाजापुढे मांडले.
