In 1941, Savarkar directed the attention of his leaders to this region, but everyone approached it with caution. Over the years, there have been repeated infiltrations by Bengali nationals. The leaders only viewed this area from a political perspective and paid little attention to the people. Apart from electoral considerations, they did not see anything significant.
