Synopsis

الأبنة الصغرى في عائلة "دي لا جارثا" هي "تيتا"، ولذلك تحرم عليها التقاليد المكسيكية الزواج حتى ترعى والدتها. لكن "تيتا" تقع في حب "بيدرو" المغرم بها وبالأطباق الرائعة التي تعدها -أكلات شهية ذات روائح شذية وألوان مبهرة-. يقرر "بيدرو"، من يأسه، الزواج من شقيقة "تيتا" حتى يتمكن من البقاء بالقرب منها. وعلى مدى اثنين وعشرين عامًا يجبر القدر "تيتا" و"بيدرو" على الصبر، حتى تجمع شملهما -على عكس كل التوقعات- سلسلة عجيبة من المآسي وسوء الحظ وتصاريف القدر. "كالماء للشوكولاته" وليمة فاخرة تجمع مرارة الغرام والفراق وحلاوتهما.
