Sinopse

The novel "The Laugh of Metwally" is a dark human story about an outstanding young man who is forced to carry his disabled brother every day to a deserted lot next to the medical college. Metwally's goofy smile turns into a "lucky charm" that attracts students who leave him money as a blessing. Between the brother's exploitation of Metwally's condition and the feelings of motherhood and guilt, events escalate to a shocking ending that redefines laughter.
