Synopsis

"Caledonia Corals" is a novella takes readers to mysterious events. The author weaves together elements of mystery, adventure to create a truly gripping plot. At the heart of the narrative is a chill-drilled sergeant who leads a group of four through treacherous winter fields. As the sky gradually darkens, an unfriendly and harsh weather settles upon the surroundings. The lake's water freezes, and the ice crystals resemble Caledonian corals; the stillness envelops the landscape, brings a restlessness and melancholy that grips the heart. Many a solitary soul may deem these modest corals as insignificant, yet they possess a captivating allure that rival even the most exquisite fractals. Smoothly flowing plot substitutes seemingly ordinary behavior, landscape, and dialogues, creating a frighteningly dim atmosphere. The fortunes take an unexpected turn when the group stumbles upon an ancient stone mottled with unknown symbols that hint at the promise of unimaginable riches. However, excitement quickly turns to anxiety when an unknown girl, shrouded in mystery, ominously appears before them, her silence speaking volumes. The soldiers find themselves facing a formidable force that cannot be defeated, deceived, or intimidated. The readers might venture to say that the author is the most misunderstood, fascinating, and mysterious one.

In contemporary Paris, a narrator and two companions explore the life and work of Gertrude Stein: a subversive imagining of a truly subversive female artist. This program is read by Audie Award–winning narrator Kristin Atherton. Our narrator has a lot going on. Her friend Eva’s cat is missing—also, she wonders, where is Eva’s husband. Their other friend Fanny is barely around, and not because of her job in finance; she is tangled up with no less than three lovers. And Gertrude Stein is ruining the narrator’s life. She is trying to write an essay about Stein but it seems impossible. She knows too much and nothing at all about the leading avant-garde thinker of the early twentieth century. There are the facts: Gertrude Stein studied psychology at Harvard and medicine at Johns Hopkins, then quit; curated modern art in her rented apartment that would shake the world; wrote novels, plays, poetry, and libretti that are incoherent and brilliant; felt love at first sight for her daring wife, the subject of The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas. But so much is out of reach. How do we put ourselves together? What do we lose to become modern? What do we find beyond the limits of language? Only a book like this, only a book by Deborah Levy, “an indelible writer [and] elliptical genius” (Dwight Garner, The New York Times Book Review), could attempt such an investigation. It crashes through genre to form something distinctively, utterly new—an imaginative, entertaining, and scholarly manifestation befitting the genius at its center. This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Satoshi Nakamoto sent one final message in 2011: "I've moved on to other things."
Then silence. Thirty-three years of silence. The identity unconfirmed. The coins untouched. The greatest disappearance in the history of money.
In 2044, the Genesis address signs again. Cryptographically verified. Undeniable. The world's most powerful ghost is finally speaking — and no one knows who is really typing.
Daniel Mercer is an investigative journalist addicted to proof. When the first signed message appears on the eve of the ninth Bitcoin halving, he is pulled into a crisis spanning continents — pitting governments, courts, and intelligence agencies against an identity no one can confirm and no one can dismiss.
Elena Varga is one of seven licensed human signers in Texas — a liability ethicist who believes meaningful human intent must be traceable, not delegated to machines. Her brother died in a hospital where no human signed his care. She will not let that happen again.
Their paths collide as the messages multiply and the institutions designed to maintain order begin weaponizing the very panic they were built to prevent.
From the Autonomy Courts of Dallas to the checkpoints of occupied Jerusalem, from Zurich's banking vaults to parliamentary chambers in London, one question radiates outward: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto — and what does the return mean for a world that has quietly surrendered its authority to machines it cannot question?
A near-future speculative thriller about Bitcoin, sovereignty, surveillance, and what happens when the system that was supposed to free us becomes the cage we didn't notice we were building.
For fans of Neal Stephenson, Michael Crichton, and Daniel Suarez — and for anyone who has ever wondered what would happen if Satoshi came back.
Multiple points of view. One question the world isn't ready to answer.
