THE MEGA 11 HOUR COLLECTION OF ALL THINGS GEORGE HARRISON FOR FRIENDS AND FANS EVERYWHERE!Although George Harrison often insisted he was only a regular guy, there is quite a lot of evidence to the contrary. Throughout his often magical, turbulent, unlikely life, he selflessly raised millions for charity and still does via the good works of his charity, The Material World Foundation. Harrison was, too, the grandfather of world music, introducing audiences to be exquisite, ethereal complexity of both Indian music and the spiritually liberating Sanskrit mantras from the Vedic scriptures. Harrison was also instrumental in turning on a global audience to ethical vegetarianism, reincarnation, and the Hare Krishna philosophy. In this expansive specially priced 11 hour plus collection, there are no journalists getting in the way of the purity of George’s expansive ideas and his carefully told personal history. Here is George Harrison truly in his own words, speaking across the waters of time to generations of dedicated fans still deeply moved by this simple man’s great music, philosophical importance, and well-deserved historical significance.Author Dasa knew George and even contributed to recordings made in the late 1980s at his Friar Park Studios, working together with drummer 'Legs' Larry Smith on a song entitled Mandalay. Here is then the absolutely perfect collection of George Harrison’s finest thoughts, recollections, and untold Beatles tales important to the collection of every fan.Sripad Jagannatha Dasa is the author of over thirty internationally bestselling biographies, including the London Sunday Times bestseller 'Blackbird: The Life and Times of Paul McCartney' and 'Dark Horse: The Private Life of George Harrison'. If a friendship lasts longer than fifteen years, you're no longer friends. You're family.
Since childhood, Lorna has been curious about Germany and her ancestral roots there. She was fourteen when her great-grandfather died, a man who was born in what is now part of Ukraine but who was a self-proclaimed, proud German.
Having grown up during the Cold War, Lorna had always viewed the former East and West Germany as being starkly different until 1999, when she met Christine, a woman from the former East Germany who became one of Lorna's closest lifetime friends.
Over twenty-five years, Lorna made several trips to Germany in search of the world's largest cuckoo clock, a hotel in Berlin where guests can sleep in a coffin or prison cell, another hotel along the Rhein River that is owned by a family who may or may not be Lorna's distant relatives, sausage that meets the Nuremberg Sausage Protection Association's standards, and the best view of Neuschwanstein Castle.
In her most recent memoir, travel and humour writer Lorna Stuber tells of her adventures in Germany while she reconnects with and learns more about her familial ties to Europe.

Women in Ancient Egypt held a unique and significant position within the broader social and cultural framework of their civilization. Unlike in many ancient societies, Egyptian women enjoyed a considerable amount of rights and freedoms, especially when compared to their contemporaries in other parts of the world. The role of women in Egyptian society was largely defined by a combination of legal rights, religious significance, and familial responsibilities, with many women being able to exercise substantial influence in both public and private spheres.
Socially, women in Ancient Egypt were often portrayed as equals to men, and their contributions to society were highly valued. While men generally dominated the spheres of politics, military, and high-ranking religious offices, women were not excluded from positions of authority, especially within the royal family and the religious hierarchy. For example, queens, priestesses, and high-ranking women could wield political power and influence in matters of state and governance. However, their roles were primarily centered around the family and domestic life. Marriage and motherhood were central to a woman’s identity, and women were expected to oversee the household and care for children.
In terms of legal rights, women in Ancient Egypt were granted many protections and privileges. They had the ability to own property, enter into contracts, and even initiate divorce if necessary. This level of autonomy was relatively rare in the ancient world, where women were often considered the property of their fathers or husbands. Egyptian women also had the right to inherit property, and they could pass on property to their children, ensuring that their lineage could maintain wealth and status. These legal rights enabled women to participate in economic transactions, manage estates, and even become wealthy landowners in some cases.

“A compelling story about coping with a serious illness, offering lessons in the value of slowing down and appreciating life in the moment." -- Kirkus Reviews
Dialysis: a Memoir portrays how a young woman’s life is changed forever when her kidneys fail. From hospitalization through hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis and finally to transplant, the memoir explores how her experience of illness is at odds with the world around her: the buoyant and youthful atmosphere of the San Francisco Bay Area during the dotcom bubble of the 1990's. The memoir describes how she learns to make sense of what happened and how she ultimately overcomes the physical and emotional challenges of kidney failure to thrive in her new life. Dialysis, Second Edition, includes a new Introduction and an updated Afterword, twenty years later.
