  Xuanzang and his disciples happened upon a demon disguised as a woman in distress, shouting for help. The monkey saw through the ploy but Xuanzang intractably took pity on her and let her accompany them to a temple. Xuanzang got sick in the temple, where the demon ate many people. After realizing what was happening, the monkey decided to carefully fight the female demon. Defeated, the demon fled and kidnapped Xuanzang as she left. The monkey went into the demon's cave several times to rescue Xuanzang, but the demon just hid. The monkey found two plaques indicating that the demon was the adoptive daughter of King Li. So, the monkey went to Heaven to invite King Li and Nezha to subdue her. As it turned out, the demon was the Golden-Nosed Albino Rat Spirit.
