Synopsis

Lucille’s fiancé, the second prince, accuses her of a crime she didn’t commit and then breaks off their engagement. Not only that, but her unjust punishment is a new betrothal to a cursed marquess! After a prophetic dream foretells her eventual execution, Lucille awakens to memories of her past life...as Lilybell, the world’s most lovable cat, whose previous owners throughout history happened to include a great witch, a legendary alchemist, and a chosen hero.

According to her dream, Lucille’s new fiancé, Felix, already has a fated love destined to appear in the future. In other words, it’s only a temporary engagement, so why shouldn’t she just kick back and relax?

With her super positive mindset and the skills she inherited from Lilybell’s owners, Lucille soon finds herself helping the people around her. She also discovers the truth of her past companions and begins to unravel the mystery behind Felix’s curse.

Skylark is a science fiction/space opera series by American writer E. E. Smith. In the first book, The Skylark of Space (first published in Amazing Stories in 1928), a scientist discovers/accidentally invents a space-drive, builds a starship, and flies off with three companions to encounter alien civilizations and fight a larger-than-life villain.
The Skylark of Space was the first of a series which continued through three subsequent books—Skylark Three and Skylark of Valeron written during the 1930s. R. D. Mullen declared that "The great success of the stories was surely due first of all to the skill with which Smith mixed elements of the spy thriller and the western story (our hero is the fastest gun in space, our villain the second fastest) with those of the traditional cosmic voyage."
The entire series describes the conflicts between protagonists Seaton and Crane, and antagonist DuQuesne, which often break into open warfare. It also includes depictions of progressively increasing scales of conflict (equalled by progressively-increased technology) between themselves, individually and collectively, and a series of non-humans bent on universal conquest. When forced to cooperate against an alien species which had conquered one galaxy and was expanding into others, the characters conclude that the universe is large enough to allow peace.

Several months into his recovery from a near-fatal illness, thirty-four-year-old novelist Sidney Orr enters a stationery shop in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn and buys a blue notebook. It is September 18, 1982, and for the next nine days Orr will live under the spell of this blank book, trapped inside a world of eerie premonitions and bewildering events that threaten to destroy his marriage and undermine his faith in reality.
Why does his wife suddenly break down in tears in the backseat of a taxi just hours after Sidney begins writing in the notebook? Why does M.R. Chang, the owner of the stationery shop, precipitously shut down his business the next day? What are the connections between a 1938 Warsaw telephone directory and a lost novel in which the hero can predict the future? At what point does animosity explode into violence? To what degree is forgiveness the ultimate expression of love?
Paul Auster's mesmerizing eleventh novel reads like an old-fashioned ghost story. But there are no ghosts in this book -- only flesh-and-blood human beings, wandering through the haunted realms of everyday life. At once a meditation on the nature of time and a journey through the labyrinth of one man's imagination, Oracle Night is a narrative tour de force that confirms Auster's reputation as one of the boldest, most original writers at work in America today.

Not everyone in Sweetbriar Ridge is as sweet as the town name would suggest. But single mom Jade Mackenzie is up to the challenge of winning over the town if that's what it takes to make her new shop a success. After all, this is just the latest in a long string of battles she's had to face. Since she's given up on men—all of them except for her son—she can throw all her energy into the new business. Or so she thought until the most charming and too-good-looking-for-his-own-good man walked into her shop...and she literally falls into his arms. Levi Donovan knows how to charm his way through life; winning people over is just what he does. But no amount of charm can save him when he's at the center of a scandal that costs him his position at a prestigious ad agency. With no other choice, he's forced to return home to Sweetbriar Ridge, the small town he left behind the first chance he got. When he meets the owner of the new coffeehouse, he starts to think that small towns aren't so bad. And when he finds out Jade needs a little help promoting her new business, he makes it his mission to help her. No matter how hard she tries to resist, Jade can't help but be swept away by Levi's good looks and the sweet way he interacts with her son. But he isn't staying, and getting attached would be a mistake. Levi always swore he would never settle in Sweetbriar Ridge, but could loving Jade be reason enough to stay? Each book in the Donovans series can be treated as a standalone.
