Sinopse

Emma Singh is the new star in the British literary heaven. Her debut book broke sales records, and expectations for the follow-up are sky-high. With Emma's Indian background, her publisher takes for granted that her next novel will also be set in India. The problem is that Emma feels as British as Queen Elizabeth and barely knows the country where she has her roots. Inspiration fails to appear, the words won't flow, and Emma is forced to realise she's suffering from writer's block. With panic, she watches her deadline approaching and searches for a way out. Perhaps creativity will come alive if she changes her environment?

When Emma is offered the position as house mistress at a boarding school, she packs her bags and leaves London in a hurry. She imagines that she will have plenty of time to write alongside her work. But life as a house mistress is considerably more demanding than Emma had anticipated. When eleven-year-old Mira crosses her path, Emma realises there are others who have lost their way in life. Can the two help each other find the way forward? And is it right to abandon your dream when it's about to come true?

Writer's Block is the second standalone part in the Writing Sisters series.

Before Holmes can act, news arrives of a gruesome murder at Birlstone Manor—a moated house where the victim was killed with a bizarre American weapon. The room is locked, the drawbridge is up, and yet the killer has vanished.

The Brotherhood of Terror: The investigation takes a sudden, cinematic turn across the Atlantic to the coal mines of Pennsylvania. Here, the "Valley of Fear" is ruled by a murderous secret society known as the Scowrers. Through the eyes of the daring Jack McMurdo, readers witness a world of infiltration, betrayal, and high-stakes espionage that predates the modern noir thriller.

Holmes's Darkest Rivalry: Unlike other Holmes adventures, The Valley of Fear highlights the terrifying reach of Professor Moriarty. Even from the safety of London, the "Napoleon of Crime" pulls the strings of a global web of violence. This novel is a relentless, two-part epic that proves that even in the most isolated corners of the world, no one is truly safe from the consequences of their past.

In Christopher Moore's ingenious debut novel, we meet one of the most memorably mismatched pairs in the annals of literature. The good-looking one is one-hundred-year-old ex-seminarian and ""roads"" scholar Travis O'Hearn. The green one is Catch, a demon with a nasty habit of eating most of the people he meets. Behind the fake Tudor facade of Pine Cove, California, Catch sees a four-star buffet. Travis, on the other hand, thinks he sees a way of ridding himself of his toothy traveling companion. The winos, neo-pagans, and deadbeat Lotharios of Pine Cove, meanwhile, have other ideas. And none of them is quite prepared when all hell breaks loose.

In the untamed heart of the Yukon wilderness, where icy winds howl and survival is both a brutal contest and a triumph of spirit, one dog's journey will awaken the primal instincts that lie buried beneath domesticated civility. Jack London's The Call of the Wild is not merely a tale of survival—it is an anthem to the wild, a hymn to the power of instinct, and a meditation on freedom itself.
Every crack of a whip, every crunch of snow under a sled, and every flash of gold in the frozen rivers echoes a deeper truth: we are creatures of nature, and nature always calls us home. Through vivid, gripping prose, London paints a world both beautiful and merciless, where loyalty is tested, courage is forged, and the wild is not only a place but a force.
Step into this feral symphony, where man and beast confront not only the elements but the essence of their souls. It's a story that dares you to explore the untamed corners of your heart and reminds you that the wild is not just out there—it is within.

A "prophetic, propulsive" tale of one mysterious, messianic child with untold powers who draws three desperate souls into acts of mercy and mayhem. (Scott Blackburn) An old woman, riddled with dementia, walks off into the woods in the middle of the night. A light in the wood draws her to a campfire with two strange, dangerous men, one young and one old, who are there plotting a crime of as-yet-indeterminate purpose. The two men have a job to do. They are hunting something precious but have only been told: you’ll know it when you see it. When they arrive at the place, an abandoned church cellar in the burned-out countryside, they find an answer they never could have predicted. Now, the job feels dubious, one that’ll surely bring them to ruin. Yet if they’re to go against orders, no step can be undone, and nothing can be taken back. In spare, imagistic prose, Lay Your Armor Down reduces the epic to its most elemental. It charts the course of several broken people, all outrunning danger’s dark fingers, and all brought together for one last chance at redemption.
