Synopsis

Joe Blaine is an average young man, but after a series of catastrophic events unfolds in his life, his world becomes forever changed. Launched into a perilous journey he never would have chosen—but one he sorely needs—Joe learns the true value of struggle in a time when everyone would deem it pointless. In Joe’s world, gone are the days of a typical coming-of-age story, as society obscures truth and abuses its people. Instead, Joe is forced through adversity to take an honest look at himself and reconcile all his actions and inactions with the Man he sees staring back at him. As a result, Joe discovers that what seems like mere chance or inevitability is in reality the intersection of the deliberate actions of others and the guiding hand of Providence.

Fast-paced, action-packed, and thought-provoking, The Man in the Mirror takes the reader on an adventure along with Joe as he not only learns the truth about his society but also takes control of his own life. Antelope Hill Publishing is proud to present Mark Time’s first novel, The Man in the Mirror, a bold contribution to the world of dissident fiction.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. THE CURE WAS A POISON. THE WELL IS FOULED. AND THE HARVEST HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN.

Five years after breaking the vampiric Aerie, Levin Graves and Kreya thought they had carved a sanctuary in the Rockies. But when biologist Yagoda Kruk broadcasts a cure for the Hemorrhage Virus, desperate survivors improvise with toxic chemicals, spawning a new, horrifying plague of armored, acid-weeping "ghouls."

Now, a ruthless human warlord marches his mechanized diesel war engine toward their haven to execute the scientist who birthed this contagion. Worse, an ancient nightmare wakes: The World-Eater. A tidal wave of two million feral vampires, fused into a terrifying hive mind, is swarming the plains to consume everything in its path.

Caught between a human crusade and an endless ocean of necrotized flesh, Levin, Kreya, and Yagoda must face the agonizing consequences of their hope. Survival is no longer enough.

This brutal next chapter in the V Land Saga will grip fans of Stephen King, Brian Lumley, and visceral post-apocalyptic dark fantasy.

What if the secret of happiness isn't in self-help books, but in ancient manuscripts guarded by a mad librarian who has been waiting 500 years for three complete fools to show up?

Meet Aglaya—a Russian chemist with a mortgage, a domovoy who eats her buckwheat, and a habit of accidentally summoning weeping angels during dissertation defenses.

Meet Brunhilda—a Swiss banker who lives in a climate-controlled bunker, schedules sex on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and has more money than some small European nations but zero joy.

Meet Fiora—an Italian witch from Milan who does love spells via Instagram, owns handbags worth more than your car, and whose grandmother curses neighbors using carrier pigeons.

Three women. Three countries. One shared problem: they have everything except happiness.

When a mysterious text message invites them to steal three ancient books from the Vatican's forbidden library, they do what any reasonable person would do—they say yes. Because really, what's the worst that could happen?

Falling into the 15th century, that's what.

Now they're running from Duke Sforza's guards, brewing moonshine to cure village elders, giving medieval peasants their first credit loans, and getting relationship advice from the ghosts of Mendeleev, Leonardo da Vinci, and King Solomon.

And somewhere along the way, between almost being burned at the stake and falling in love with shepherds who aren't actually shepherds, they might just discover that the secret they've been hunting for has been right in front of them all along.

Three Witches and the Secret of Happiness is a hilarious, heartwarming, occasionally absurd novel for anyone who's ever wondered: Is this really all there is?

Spoiler: It isn't. But you'll have to listen to find out why.

Julia has been let go from her job of 20 years, as a ground water geologist in Eastern Washington and must find a new way to support herself. She decides to pack up her belongings and return to her family's cottage on Pine Island. There she hopes to find a new meaning to her life, while living in the peaceful and serene setting that she always experienced in the northern woods of Canada.
She is surprised to discover that her old buddy, Andrew, still spends every summer across the river on Brown's Island, where he spent his youth with his family. The two had always spent their childhoods playing, fishing and enjoying the tranquility of island life as children. Once again, they share time enjoying the love of the great north.
Julia had left for college over two decades ago, to make a life for herself working on the plutonium ground water cleanup project left from the atomic bomb processing, at the Hanford Nuclear Site in Richland, Washington. There she had made a life for herself; not returning to the island she loved so much. Destiny forced her to reevaluate her life and priorities encompassing many changes in attitudes and lifestyle.

This is a small collection of whimsical poems by the American physician and author Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. "The Deacon's Masterpiece" describes the "logical" outcome of building an object (in this case, a two-wheeled carriage called a shay) that has no weak points. The economic term "one hoss shay," referring to a certain model of depreciation, derives its name from this poem. "How the Old Horse Won the Bet" is a lighthearted look at a horse race. Finally, "The Broomstick Train" is a wonderfully Halloween-y explanation of how an electric tram really works. (Summary by Laurie Anne Walden)
