Synopsis

"ആലപ്പുഴ പട്ടണത്തിലെ തോട്ടികളുടെ നരകതുല്യമായ ജീവിതം പശ്ചാത്തലമാക്കി രചിച്ച നോവലാണ് തകഴി ശിവശങ്കരപ്പിള്ളയുടെ തോട്ടിയുടെ മകന്‍. മൂന്നു തലമുറകളുടെ ചരിത്രത്തിലൂടെ ചുരുള്‍ നിവരുന്ന ഈ നോവല്‍ തൊഴിലാളിവര്‍ഗത്തിന്റെ അധ്വാനത്തിന്റെ കഥ പറയുന്നു. സമൂഹം വെറുപ്പോടെയും അവജ്ഞയോടും കണ്ടിരുന്ന ഒരു ജനവിഭാഗം മനുഷ്യരാണെന്നും അവര്‍ക്കൊരു ജീവിതമുണ്ടെന്നും യഥാതഥമായി നോവല്‍ കാട്ടിത്തരുന്നു.
