What if every vote you cast, every political movement you believed in, every democratic choice you made was nothing more than calculated output from an algorithm designed to maintain the illusion of freedom? Investigative journalist Maya Lennox stumbles upon the truth behind PULSE—an AI-driven system so sophisticated it doesn't just predict elections, it orchestrates them. From manufactured candidates to engineered crises, from social media manipulation to the very fabric of political discourse, nothing is real. Everything is code.
As Maya delves deeper into the conspiracy, she discovers a shadowy network of power brokers led by the enigmatic Xander Cole, a mastermind who has perfected the art of democratic manipulation. From Swiss Alps boardrooms to Silicon Valley server farms, from Capitol Hill to digital underground resistance movements, the battle for humanity's free will reaches a breaking point. But in a world where reality itself is programmable, can truth still prevail? Or has democracy already been deleted from existence?
STEALING DEMOCRACY is a metafictional techno-political thriller that blurs the lines between narrative and reality, challenging listeners to question: In the age of AI and algorithmic control, was your choice ever truly yours? Narrated by Bradford Sinclair with a full voice cast featuring Adeline Harper, Samuel Cross, Grant Wyatt, and more.

Betrayed by his rivals and falsely accused of sedition by a justice system that is anything but, Edmond Dantes is thrown into the dungeon of the Chateau d'If and left for dead. A chance encounter with a mad priest leads to the resurrection of hope, a frightening escape, and the discovery of untold riches. Twenty four years after his incarceration, Edmond Dantes reemerges as the mysterious and vampire like Count of Monte Cristo, with the sole intention of extracting vengeance on those who profited from his disappearance. This classic thriller by Alexandre Dumas has been reimagined many times over the centuries, but this audiobook recording, taken from the original English translation, edited and performed by award winning narrator Joshua Macrae, takes Dumas' Shakespearean poetry and wit and blends it with the craft of modern audio story telling. It's a wild ride from start to finish . . .

Four Black Japanese gay men team up to exact revenge in a culture where discrimination is deep-seated. A searing, darkly funny debut from the Akutagawa Prize–winning author.

Nobody at the corporate offices of Athletius Japan knows much about the massage therapist, Jackson—but rumors abound. He used to work as a model. He likes to party. He’s mixed race—half-Japanese, half-somewhere-in-Africa-n. He might be gay. Fueling the gossip is the sudden appearance of a violent pornographic video featuring a man who looks a lot like Jackson.

When Jackson serendipitously meets three other queer mixed-race guys, he learns he’s not the only one being targeted. Together they concoct a plan: find out who’s responsible and, in the meantime, switch identities and play tricks on people—a boyfriend, a boss—who’ve wronged them, exploiting the fact that nobody can seem to tell them apart.

A short, blistering gut punch of a novel, Jackson Alone is at turns satirical and deadpan, angry and tender—a frank exploration of identity, race, and queerness in contemporary Japan that announces Jose Ando as a singular new talent in the global literary scene.

YOU THINK YOU’VE HEARD MY STORY BEFORE…

At twenty-seven, I’m too young to be a widow. I’m trying my best to start over though: new city, new job running my own little shop. I try to fade into the background where I can, but the police won’t let me disappear completely. There are too many unanswered questions about the night my husband died.

    YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME…

I even have a new lodger, Elizabeth. She’s friendly, but definitely not a friend. Beautiful, too – tall and slim with the sort of swishy blonde hair I’ve always coveted. She smiles at me when we pass on the stairs. It occurs to me then that I don’t know the first thing about her.

    …BUT YOU’RE SO, SO WRONG.

If I were to tell you what happened to us next, you wouldn’t believe me. You might believe Elizabeth – she’s the type who people trust – until it’s too late.

I guess you’ll have to find out for yourself.

If you read one book this year, make it this one. A tense, gripping psychological thriller for anyone who raced through The Girl Before, Behind Her Eyes, or The Girl on the Train.
