ADAM & EVE – Psychedelic Promise 1965 London
Book 5 of 6: The Age of Wisdom
This fifth book of six is summarized as follows:
Summer 1967-1968 finds Adam and Eve at the height of their creative powers, launching underground magazine Gandalf's Thoughts from their Notting Hill flat. As their publication gains cult status, their paths diverge: Adam is seduced by commercial art success after a prestigious Mayfair exhibition, while Eve's radical feminist essay "The Female Condition" sparks national debate but alienates former allies. Their creative partnership fractures as Adam embraces mainstream recognition and Eve deepens her feminist activism. Tensions culminate at the Isle of Wight Festival, where amidst Jefferson Airplane's performance, they confront their diverging visions. In a poignant dawn conversation, they choose separation - not as an ending, but as necessary growth. Eve moves out to pursue women's liberation work, while Adam wrestles with artistic integrity. The story captures 1968's cultural crossroads, where idealism collides with reality, and two soulmates learn that sometimes love means letting each other evolve.
I do hope you enjoy this fourth instalment, and it's only $3.
The initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 1/2 minutes, called Electric Pulse, and prepares you for the start, synthesizer, bass and cymbals in a soul/funk form. The closing music, called Full Motion, ends the tale on a darker tone and at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments, genre and industrial/fearful mood but with more caution added.
The book itself runs to about 16 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

After men declared war on women, the world fell apart.
In a not-so-distant future, women outnumber men 7 to 1, and no one can explain it.
Threatened by this mysterious phenomenon, the government impulsively passes new abortion laws and strips women of their rights.
Meanwhile, eighteen-year-old Eve Malum watches the riots and protests through her television screen, terrified of the America she no longer recognizes. Unlike her mother and sister, however, she doesn’t have the courage to go out there and demand freedom for all women.
She isn’t like them. She isn’t a fighter.
But when something tragic happens, Eve becomes someone else… someone who will stop at nothing until justice is served, even if that means getting blood on her hands.
Chilling, twisted, and frighteningly vivid, Eden Rising will draw readers into a dark dystopian world like no other.

Daniel Woodrell's modern classic is an unforgettable tale of desperation and courage that inspired the award-winning film starring Jennifer Lawrence.   Ree Dolly's father has skipped bail on charges that he ran a crystal meth lab, and the Dollys will lose their house if he doesn't show up for his next court date. With two young brothers depending on her, 16-year-old Ree knows she has to bring her father back, dead or alive. Living in the harsh poverty of the Ozarks, Ree learns quickly that asking questions of the rough Dolly clan can be a fatal mistake. But, as an unsettling revelation lurks, Ree discovers unforeseen depths in herself and in a family network that protects its own at any cost.“The lineage from Faulkner to Woodrell runs as deep and true as an Ozark stream in this book ... his most profound and haunting yet.” —Los Angeles Times Book Review
