Synopsis

Whether male or female, virtuous or amoral, mythical Mer creatures often reflect humankind's ambivalence about nature. Tales of The Mer Family Onyx explores their worlds through the magical household of Neptune and Glendora, stewards of the seas. Like L. Frank Baum's Oz and E. Nesbit's Five Children and It, this is a "family book" for adults and mixed age groups of children. Among the Onyx clan are toddler Ruby, tween boy-girl twins, teen beauties and Pinky, a mini mermaid. When Neptune challenges his children, they discover their limits in forbidden caves, worlds out of time and at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, where an Earth boy’s dream comes true.

The "forgotten" planet had been seeded for life, first with microbes and later with plants and insects. A third expedition, intended to complete the seeding with animals, never occurred. Over the millennia the insects and plants grew to gigantic sizes. The action of the novel describes the fight for survival by descendants of a crashed spaceship as they battle wolf-sized ants, flies the size of chickens, and gigantic flying wasps. When White Fang was first published in 1906, Jack London was well on his way to becoming one of the most famous, popular, and highly paid writers in the world. White Fang stands out as one of his finest achievements, a spellbinding novel of life in the northern wilds.
In gripping detail, London bares the savage realities of the battle for survival among all species in a harsh, unyielding environment. White Fang is part wolf, part dog, a ferocious and magnificent creature through whose experiences we see and feel essential rhythms and patterns of life in the animal kingdom and among mankind as well.
It is, above all, a novel that keenly observes the extraordinary working of one of nature's greatest gifts to its creatures: the power to adapt. Focusing on this wondrous process, London created in White Fang a classic adventure story as fresh and appealing for today's audiences as for those who made him among the bestselling novelists of his day.

These stories can be read at parties and gatherings to create a good conversation. People can make comments and have a laugh. Some of the stories are a bit silly but funny with a lot of intelligent humour thrown in for a good mix. Appealing to children and young adults, middle-aged and elderly people so all people can have a laugh, from eight to one hundred and eight all people are included. I hope you all have a laugh and don’t forget to share the laughter with friends.
It would be stretching my brain too far to write one hundred stories. I can think of some funny bits I have already written; they make me laugh and they might make you chuckle too. Like the zookeepers who found a job in the Air Force and now dispatches missiles. Or the girl bungee jumping in a dress and G-string, or the streaker who put his clothes back on and left the building. There are the stories about: the astronauts who were left to wander the universe for eternity, the horse who had his stripes painted on like a zebra, the monkey who packed his bags and moved back to Africa and the aliens who survived their crash landing and are walking the Earth today. These are just a few of the stories that make me laugh and there are many more!
There are 55 stories, I am sure something will give a giggle, a deep chuckle sprinkled with some hilarious laughs!
