Synopsis

Two estranged sisters reunite to uncover the harrowing mystery of their missing mother. In 1998, the American Jorgenson family was on a year-long road trip through Australia. One stormy night, the mother, Elsa Jorgenson, disappeared in a remote stretch of the Australian everglades. Despite an extensive search, Elsa was never found. 
That night, twelve-year-old Lily Jorgenson was left terrified and alone in the family camper, while her teenage sister Iris was also missing. When Iris returned, drenched and silent, she refused to explain where she had been. Lily was convinced her sister was hiding something. 
Twenty-four years later, Lily is a travel writer living a quiet life with her son in Pennsylvania, USA. She and Iris are estranged, their relationship shattered by Iris’s hidden secret. But when floods uncover their mother’s backpack from the everglades, fresh clues surface, and the police reopen the cold case. 
Determined to confront Iris and uncover the truth, Lily returns to Australia. As the shocking events of the past unfold, Lily is forced to confront the painful reality that everything she thought she knew about her family is about to crumble.
