Synopsis

"Public Opinion Trends" offers a comprehensive examination of how societal views evolve and transform across generations, focusing on the complex interplay between political ideologies, cultural values, and economic beliefs.

Through an extensive analysis of five decades of polling data and sociological studies across 30 countries, the book reveals how major historical events, technological advancement, and social movements have fundamentally reshaped public perspectives on crucial issues. The book uniquely demonstrates that opinion shifts rarely occur in isolation, instead functioning through intricate feedback loops that connect political, cultural, and economic spheres.

By analyzing data from 1970 to 2023, it identifies both cyclical patterns and unprecedented changes in public opinion, particularly highlighting the new phase of volatility brought about by the intersection of social media, demographic shifts, and economic uncertainty. The research combines traditional polling methods with modern social media sentiment analysis and demographic cohort studies, providing a multi-faceted view of opinion formation.

Written in an accessible style that balances academic rigor with practical insights, the book progresses from examining political opinion evolution through cultural transformation to economic perspective shifts. Each section is enriched with real-world case studies and supported by a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative polling data with qualitative historical analysis.

This interdisciplinary work serves as an invaluable resource for policymakers, journalists, and researchers seeking to understand and anticipate future opinion trends in developed democracies.

Soon to be a MAJOR MOVIE. A gripping and heartbreaking story, A Thousand Miles from Care tells the 30-year quest Steve Johnson undertook to uncover the truth about his brilliant brother’s death.
At the entrance of Sydney Harbor, the cliffs rise fourteen stories above the Pacific, like a gigantic skirt made of sandstone. North Head, one of the most memorable cliffs, is a gorgeous place to watch the sunrise. But it’s an unforgiving place to lose your footing. When Steve Johnson’s younger brother Scott went over the edge in 1988, he hit an outcrop on the way down and exploded on the rocks below.
A Thousand Miles from Care draws upon the mountain of exclusive materials Steve amassed over his 32-year fight for answers, including sealed court transcripts, police records, interviews with suspects, inquest reports, correspondence with gang members, private investigations, and much else. It utilizes unique details, interview transcripts and insights based on Johnson’s close relationship with authorities and high-ranking New South Wales officials developed over more than three decades.
This profoundly impactful book traces the steps Steve Johnson, his family and friends took to solve the mystery of Scott’s alleged suicide, navigating an openly hostile police force and a maze of dead ends, unreliable informants, skinhead gangs, a faked confession, police-connected drug rings, and setbacks at every turn. A Thousand Miles from Care is above all, a love story between two brothers but shared by everyone who worked so long for truth and justice for Scott.
This autobiography is a best seller in the making, a non-fiction account of death, grief, and bereavement. It's a true story that explores the relationships between two brothers, making it a top choice for readers seeking heartfelt, real-life stories.

    Socially Psyched: A Short Book...

This is a collection of what I feel are some of the most important social/cognitive psychology experiments, studies, demonstrations, biases, and systematic reviews, presented in an entertaining way while adhering to academic standards.

I have always been fascinated by how our behaviors, cognition (thoughts), and affect (how we feel) are greatly dependent upon our social environment and our imperfect brains. I find it fascinating--perhaps because I am an American who was raised in the typical American cultural environment where I learned that what we consider "the self" consists of some magic "soul" that defines who we are—our behaviors (including choices and decisions), our cognition (including thoughts and beliefs), and our feelings. This could not be further from the truth. "We" are a result of an often incomprehensible interaction between biology and environment where some traits are more greatly influenced by social factors than others. Who we are is a result of social forces—the influence of other people and the human-created systems in which we operate. We can ignore this fact, maintain an illusion of control, or face reality and learn how to navigate this world and come out on top—personally, professionally, and financially. I choose the latter.

My name is Bo Bennett, and I hold a PhD in social psychology with a passion for this subject. While this book is not about me, my interpretations and commentary do make up most of the sections of each entry based on the content written by the original authors of the research or other sources—each of which will be cited when used.
    Enjoy this short book!

This book consists of two titles:
Book 1: Scotland is an old country with an ancient history. There is no doubt about that. Many traditions, words, symbols, and other cultural aspects we see as normal today, originate from Scotland. Scotland's documented history started with the Roman Empire's entryway in the first century, when the province of Britannia broadened as far north as the Antonine Wall. Caledonia, to the north, was home to the Picti, whose uprisings drove Rome's armies back to Hadrian's Wall. As Rome withdrew from Britain, the Scoti, a group of Gaelic pirates, started colonizing Western Scotland and Wales. Ancient Scotland saw the Neolithic Age around 4000 BC, the Bronze Age around 2000 BC, and the Iron Age around 700 BC before the arrival of the Romans.
Book 2: The Film "Brave Heart" has it right on some points but does a bad job with historic precision with others, most likely because they're just attempting to dramatize a Hollywood film, not promoting dull precision. Let's see what info we can learn from history about the real William Wallace. William Wallace was a Scottish knight. In order to comprehend the impact of that time's knight civilization and roles, we will discuss the idea itself. We will also discuss the brutal reign of Edward I of England, the sadistic murder of William Wallace (worse than you might think), and several other factors contributing to his capture, his resistance, and his following.
