Synopsis

Fighting midlife inertia, Sherry Stanfa-Stanley chose to stare down fear through The 52/52 Project: a year of weekly new experiences designed to push her far outside her comfort zone. These ranged from visiting a nude beach with her seventy-five-year-old mother in tow to taking a road trip with her ex-husband—and then another one with his girlfriend. She also went on a raid with a vice squad and SWAT team, exfoliated a rhinoceros (inadvertently giving him an erection), and crashed a wedding (where she accidentally caught the bouquet). While finding her courage in the most unlikely of circumstances, Sherry ultimately found herself.

For midlifers, fatigued parents, and anyone who may be discontent with their life and looking to shake things up, try new things, or just escape, Finding My Badass Self is proof it's never too late to reinvent yourself—and that the best bucket list of all may be an unbucket list.

The story of a bizarre love triangle. Two popular comedians, Robichon and Quinquart vie for the love of a pretty actress. She declares that she will marry the one who is a better actor... but how to decide? The pretty Suzanne's answer is that all Paris should decide. But how is this to be achieved? The two agree that to test their acting skills they should take on a serious acting role. But as they are famous as comedians, they realise it will be difficult to agree anyone to cast them in anything other than comedy. At this moment, a stranger joins them and asks some advice. He is the former public executioner, and is about to give a lecture for the first time. He is seeking some tips from the famous performers, as he is crippled with stage fright. Robichon offers to swap places and take over this performance...knowing that if he wins over the audience in this role, he will also win Suzanne's hand. Quinquart despairs. How on earth can he possibly beat Robichon's performance? But while the lecture is a masterful triumph, events take a most unexpected turn afterwards.

The perfect, feel-good read to put a huge smile on your face!
◆"I loved this book nearly as much as I love crafting♥"
◆"J C Williams' books make me a happier person. As simple as that."
◆"Delicious humour mixed with a delightful tale. I loved it★★★★★"It's not that single mum Charlotte Newman is completely and utterly obsessed with crafting, necessarily.
Sure, she has balls of wool stashed everywhere like a squirrel stores nuts and more needles than a tattoo parlour. But that doesn't mean she has a problem, right?
Finding herself between jobs, Charlotte fills her time teaching crafting skills at the local nursing home. Encouraged by how positively the residents respond, the possibility of a career doing what she adores fills her mind.
The first step towards that ambition is creating a crafting hub for the community – The Crafternoon Sewcial Club.
When a local charity announces a major knitting-themed fundraiser, Charlotte sees the ideal stage to put her new club firmly on the crafting map and drum up new members in the process.
Unfortunately, not everybody is on board with her vision for a crafting club, as it turns out. Indeed, some are even hoping to see Charlotte's dream come crashing down around her.
Still, she won't let a minor issue like that derail her plans…
To ensure victory, then, she'll need to rally her new members and ask her friends from the nursing home to get those needles clicking faster than a hummingbird's wings!
If you adore crafting, knitting, sewing, crochet while drinking tea with friends, you'll love this book!

    Keila is the perfect revolutionary:
Lacking things like intelligence, sanity or common sense,
She has something far more important: plot armour and the telepathic help of Rangda, the evil space demon!
Divine Space Gods II : Revolution for Dummies is dark comedy parody on The Divine Sedition by the same author.
It’s the year 2872 and the young, beautiful, and insane Keila Eisenstein is on the run from her long-time stalker, Bjorn Muller. Escaping him for the umpteenth time, Keila crashes down on the asteroid colony Eden, most famous for the long running reality show “The Bronze Age Fools”
Convinced that Eden is her destiny, Keila kills “The Bronze Age Fools” unwitting main star Abraham Goldstein, which forces the show to cancel. Keila then fakes her own death by deleting her social media account and instructs her lover Metatron to release a press release blaming the cancellation of "the Bronze Age Fools" on Bjorn Muller.
Bjorn, who is convinced that Keila is dead, as he can’t imaging her willingly deleting her SpaceBook account, goes back to Earth for a holiday. The holiday is ruined as Bjorn is blamed for causing the cancellation of everyone’s favourite show!
Being “dead”, Keila builds up a revolutionary movement against the ruling Terran Council. Despite her lack of intelligence or common sense, her plot armour is leading her on the way, and with the help from the evil space demon Rangda, she is poised to free humanity from the oppression of the incompetent array of villains that make up the Terran Council.
But, is relying on an evil space demon to free humanity from a group of plutocratic oppressors really a good idea?

Monty was just like any other dog. A scruffy and irascible Maltese terrier, he enjoyed barking at pugs and sniffing at trees. But after Monty has yet another dramatic confrontation with the local Rottweiler, Anthony McGowan realizes it’s high time he and Monty had a chat about what makes him a good or a bad dog. Taking his lead from Monty’s canine antics, McGowan takes us on a hilarious and enlightening jaunt through the major debates of philosophy. Will Kant convince Monty to stop stealing cheesecake? How long will they put up with Socrates poking holes in every argument? In this uniquely entertaining take on morality and ethics, the dutiful duo set out to uncover who—if anyone—has the right end of the ethical stick and can tell us how best to live one’s life.

This is the fifth collection of short stories by Saki (H.H. Munro), and was published posthumously in 1923. Even so, many of the stories are quite up to the standard of those collected earlier. (Summary by Graham Redman)
