    This is the second book in the Lands of our Ancestors historical novel series, which follows three generations of a Chumash Indian family in California as they try to survive wave upon wave of colonization. Kilik, Tuhuy and the other Native American children have escaped from a harsh Spanish colonial mission in California in the early 1800s where they were made to work for the padres and soldiers. They find the village of other Native Americans who have escaped other missions and become part of that community. As they grow and mature, they have children of their own. Together they must face a new set of adversaries, the Mexican Rancheros who have received massive land grants to establish huge cattle ranches and Mexican soldiers that force Native Americans to work on those ranches.

    Mars the Warning
    Book 5 of 6 – the final exodus
    This fifth story in the series I have written is summarized below;
    As Martian forces systematically dismantle human settlements, Dr. Lin Mei oversees the desperate evacuation of Outpost Alpha. Crystalline warriors disable terraforming equipment while permitting escape, their precision strikes demonstrating superior technology and restraint. General Drake, humbled by defeat, ensures military personnel evacuate last. When Martian forces surround Olympus Outpost, they broadcast haunting images of Mars' pre-human beauty before liquefying its foundations—not with violence, but with the inevitability of a planet reclaiming itself. Aboard the final transport Ares, Lin watches Mars recede, its surface now glittering with emerging alien cities. The Martians transmit a final message: "Leave and do not return," offering mercy but no forgiveness. As 342 survivors journey toward Earth, Lin clutches data proving Martian sentience, determined to prevent future colonization attempts. The exodus becomes a turning point—not just retreat from Mars, but the collapse of humanity's colonial mindset. The red planet fades to a warning light in the viewport, its lesson clear: the universe is not humanity's to conquer.
    I do hope you enjoy this fifth instalment, and its only $3.
    The initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 plus minutes sets the scene, so to speak, this is heavy metal first but give it a chance and you will be surprised (I felt the martian beings would be extremely angry) ends with a warning sound music track like an alarm, 1 minutes plus.
    The book itself runs to about 15 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.
    I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

    What do you know about the sense of touch?
    Our senses help us observe and understand our world. This curricular topic is explored though an integrated approach to learning with embedded SEL questions and family/educator engagement tips at the beginning and end of each book. Engaging photos and leveled text help teach young readers about their senses, and questions encourage readers to think like a scientist.

    "Tom, Tom, the piper's son,
    Stole a pig and away he run;
    The pig was eat and Tom was beat
    And Tom ran crying down the street." Why did Tom steal that pig? Was he a bad boy? Not according to the story behind this rhyme. Tom was the only son of a good for nothing man who could only play the pipes and that very badly. Little Tom was forced to steal food for his father and himself as they travelled around the country. Was he beaten? oh yes, he was and very soundly by the owner of the little pig that he stole. But he learned his lesson and became a good citizen from then on. Listen to this tale and get a chuckle now and then because it is very droll.
