Synopsis

Gay, dramatic, and flamboyant, Avery Jennings first fell in love with Joe Gunderson back in their sophomore year of high school when Joe asked Avery to tutor him for an English Lit class. Avery didn't think he stood a chance with straight Joe and therefore hid his attraction to the handsome football player. When the tutoring ended, so did Avery's time with Joe.
Years passed and when it's time for college, Avery takes a job at the diner of a family friend and he's shocked when his boss hires a new server ... Joe. Joe's out and proud now but comes with a boyfriend, once more crushing Avery's dreams.
Sometimes life brings someone back to you for a reason. Can Avery figure out what's between him and Joe before it's too late?

Grendel is attracted to Ken too, but before the pair have time to explore their feelings, an agent from the Federal Bureau of Geostasis arrives. He tells Ken the FBG have detected Grendel's passage, which is a breach of security. They want to take Grendel into custody and send him to work in the mines. Ken defies the agent even though he knows it will lead to trouble. If Ken and Grendel are to have any possibility of staying together, they must find some way to elude these government forces.

‘April Ashley was born, aged twenty-five, on 12 May 1960. It was a difficult birth at the Clinique du Parc on rue Lapébie, a back street running parallel to the admired avenue d’Amade in Casablanca, on a day when the Moroccan sunshine was behaving the way the guidebooks say it should . . .’
Through her own – often bloody-minded – determination and the medical skill of others, April Ashley became the woman she had always believed herself to be.
And for half a dozen decades she soared around, over and above momentous and turbulent times, difficult, and changing times when, finally, who you wanted to be and who you could be became the cultural topic of the day.
She overcame opprobrium and penury and became renowned and celebrated for one specific achievement: being April Ashley.
This raw, moving and funny memoir reveals April’s life as never before.
