Beschreibung

Cardiologist Wyatt Smith is on his way to a conference with fellow employee Levi Johnson when they are about to run out of gas the day before Christmas Eve. It's snowing hard, making visibility difficult. Wyatt makes the decision to get cabin rooms at a motel before the car runs out of gas. There's only one cabin available, though, and it's the honeymoon suite.
Levi is a little pissed Wyatt didn't fill up the rental car's gas tank before they hit the road. He has always respected the brilliant surgeon, and has a little crush on him, too. But when Wyatt suggests they get some rooms at a motel straight out of a horror flick, Levi thinks the good doctor is out of his damn mind. With a blizzard on the way closing the roads, they have no choice but to hunker down and share a cabin until the weather clears.
Wyatt and Levi harbor crushes on each other, though neither dares hope the other feels the same. Will being forced to share the only bed force them to admit their feelings?

Whose silly idea was it to get married in a remote Scottish castle in the middle of winter? But before they can get married, Londoner Kim and her fiery Brazilian fiancée, Gabi, first have to get there.

The trip from their home in London involves rain -- a lot of rain -- hire cars, trains, disapproving B&B landladies, and snow. So much snow that even when the brides reach their castle, not in a limo, but in a Land Rover smelling of sheep, they fear the caterer, their families and friends, and, most importantly, the celebrant to marry them, will never make it.

Will the guests arrive? Will the power stay on? Will the cake make it safely? Will the wedding even happen at all? Gaining the right to marry was a long struggle. Now the struggle is to get the brides to the church on time.

Hunter is just getting used to life as a vampire detective when he begins developing a remarkable new ability - one that none of his fellow agents at The Order have ever witnessed.
While he tries to control this new power, Hunter, his lover, Kai, and fellow agents from the Dallas bureau are summoned to San Francisco, where there is evidence a project to mutate ordinary citizens into human-animal hybrids has resumed.
What Hunter learns about his true self could help in tracking down those responsible - and could put his comrades in mortal jeopardy.
    Praise for West of Nowhere:
McPherson's style awakens old world vampire stories and entwines them with mystery/thriller overtones, making the resultant narrative decidedly unique... West of Nowhere weaves a wealth of supernatural fantasy components together, interlacing them with themes of belonging and regret into one intense, fast-moving story. --The BookLife Prize
Fans of The Dresden Files or The Southern Vampire Mysteries (but with more edge and less camp) will find a lot to enjoy here. It's fast, it's dark, and it leaves you with just enough unease to keep the lights on at night. (Thomas Anderson, Literary Titan)

I am a bashful, dorky human woman—your average refugee on Risda III.

Haina is tall, blue, and magnificent. She is effortlessly confident, and her laugh is contagious. I might hide behind the candle section at the store in Risda's port just to get a weekly glimpse at her when she makes her vendor runs.

I might be in love with her from afar. Someday I'll get the courage to talk to her. Someday.

But fate steps in, and 'someday' turns out to be a lot sooner than I expected.

    Contains mature themes.
