The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - Volume 4:
Throughout many years, Dr. John H. Watson accompanied his friend and companion Sherlock Holmes in solving countless mysteries and crimes. Beginning in the 1880s and into the 20th century, Holmes consistently held his status as the world’s most brilliant and successful detective. His accomplishments were painstakingly chronicled by Watson in notes that relate the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Many of his accounts have been published and are well-known to a broad readership.
There were times, however, when Watson would refrain from publishing his writings during his lifetime. He would do so for various reasons: At times, he would find himself forced to keep actual events and background information secret for moral, criminal, or financial reasons. Other times, he would want to either avoid potential political, legal, or social scandals or even damage to his own—or Holmes’s—reputation. Some of Watson’s accounts, however, were simply not published at the time because he was occupied with more important or urgent matters.
The New Adventures brings to the public for the very first time some of Watson’s accounts of Sherlock Holmes cases previously kept under lock and key.

From USA Today bestselling author Sara Ney comes a new series about strong, single girls falling in love: accidentally.

Love finds you when you least expect it.

That's what my nan always said. Love? I wasn't looking for it so how will I know when I've found it? I'm not romantic like she was—I'm realistic and practical. Quick with my wits and hilarious when I'm in the mood, it'll take more than a handsome face to win my affection.

Speaking of handsome faces—Elias Cohen is nothing special (no offense); smug, arrogant. Too flirtatious for his own good. He won't charm me with that crooked smile and dimple in his chin.

When Elias comes knocking on my office door during a house party after I play wingman for a friend, I'm tempted to slam the door in his face. But I don't.

Because if there's one thing I am, it's curious. And wouldn't you know it—Elias needs a favor. Begs for one, actually.

He might not be able to make me swoon, but he does need a wingwoman.

“There are wonders and terrors out there you can't yet imagine, and people out there you don't yet know are family.”
I don’t mix well with people; I prefer the birds. I spend my time trying to find the Trickster—a finch treasured by the locals. My smart mouth, brash behavior, and being non-binary in this secluded southern town keep me on the periphery of Spastoke’s society. Fine by me. All I need are the birds and my uncle Jeremy.
Until he dies, and I can’t do anything to stop it. I want to withdraw from the town into the comfort of birdwatching and forget everything. Instead, Adrian Turney, my uncle’s friend and mentor, is found dead in the woods. My only hope of unravelling the truth is Jethro; a chatty newcomer that appears earnest, but can I trust him?
When my uncle appears to me in my dreams, I quickly learn what started as a search for answers is so much more: a journey into the town’s shady past to uncover a danger in the woods lost to time. Along the way, I might discover I’m not alone as I thought.

"Rue Sparks is a superb storyteller and The Fable of Wren is a testament to that. Not only is it a cleverly written mystery with gripping twists and turns and compelling characters, it's also full of heart. Reading this book feels like having someone wrap a warm blanket around your shoulders and tell you that everything will be all right."

"A Laodicean: A Story of To-day" tells the tale of Paula Power, the heiress to a great fortune and a modern castle, who wrestles with her affections between two men: George Somerset, a young architect passionate about the new, and Captain De Stancy, who represents the allure of the old. Set within a rapidly changing Victorian society, the novel explores themes of tradition versus progress, love versus duty, and the quest for identity in the midst of technological advancement and social upheaval. Hardy weaves a complex narrative that questions the true nature of modernity and loyalty in an era of uncertainty.
