Synopsis

"Falling for Lies" tells the poignant story of Emily, a young woman whose life is turned upside down by the deceitful promises of what seemed like a perfect love. But what begins as a romantic adventure quickly unravels into a nightmare as Emily discovers that her beloved is not who he claims to be.
As Emily unveils the truth behind the ruthless deception that shattered her life, she embarks on a journey of healing and empowerment that takes her to the deepest depths of her soul and back. Along the path of self-discovery, she encounters fellow survivors, finds community and support, and ultimately becomes a voice of hope and change for all those navigating similar challenges.
"Falling for Lies" is an inspiring tale of courage, resilience, and the unwavering strength of the human spirit. It is a story that explores the darkest corners of the human psyche while shining the light of hope and survival. A story that demonstrates that even in life's most challenging times, love, faith, and community can make us strong.

"Looking Good, Mary" is something my parrot used to say to me and when I was feeling low it gave me a real lift. This book of poems started as a collection of memoirs that I wrote for my children. It is a mixture of things that happen in everyday life - funny and sometimes sad. I am still amused as I read these as every one of them is a true story from my life.

Since childhood, Janice Whyne has been a words person, writing prose-filled Christmas cards, songs and poetry. She sees poetry as a means of self-expression. A conduit and a safe space for our emotions, feelings and lived experiences. She's a Londoner by birthplace, a Jamaican by birthright, and also regards Indonesia as another homeland.
In Conversation is a personal milestone in Janice's journey of rediscovering her creative self. Along the way, she's ventured into the world of open mics, spoken word and poetry slams; winning 1st runner-up at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival Poetry Slam 2019 & 2022.
The poems in In Conversation began their lives with a word(s) exchanged in conversation or that captured her attention in something she was listening to or viewing. She regards them as articulations of the said and unsaid; with the poetic voice in them not always hers, but rather an expression of the voice(s) of others.
Readers have described it as unapologetic, raw, poignant, vulnerable and brave: a journey.
"It speaks of someone that feels and loves much for this world, the wonderful imperfect people in it, and the injustices that go on."
Themes of life, loss, love, protest and more are awaiting all who choose to engage in conversation with these poems.
Her poem 'Sitting with Amazing' is part of The Poetry Archive Now Worldview 2021 Winners collection. Other poems have been featured in ‘Coffee & Contemplation: a taste of empowerment’ (2020), Coffee People Zine, Issue 10 (2020), All My Relations, Volume 5, Talbot-Heindl (2023), ‘Her locks unveiled: poems from the Black in White poetry competition’ (2023) as well as in other online and printed mediums.

    About the Book
Dallas Falkenhayn bakes and sells the most amazing bread. He is excellent in the kitchen. Creative. Careful. Precise. His only problem is there is an entire world that exists outside of his kitchen. He tries not to think about it. Or visit it.
Flannel, Georgia is a tiny town in southern Georgia. They have an alligator processing plant. A high school. And the most railway traffic in the entire south-east. Not much changes in Flannel. And when things do change, they don’t change very quickly.
Dallas doesn’t want to go to Flannel, but he has too. Flannel doesn’t particularly want a bakery, but it gets one.
And then there is that whole murder thing that happens.
    About the Author
Clay is very boring. That’s why he writes. He really likes to stay at home. If there is ever a choice between going and not going literally anywhere --well that’s not a choice at all.
His goal in life is to be in his PJs by five pm, everyday. On good days he doesn’t get out his PJs in the first place. He loves movies, baseball, and board games. His favorite thing in the world is his family. And his favorite thing not in the world is the James Webb Space Telescope. Unless we’re counting Jedis. If we’re counting Jedis than he’ll take Luke Skywalker over James Webb.
