G. tried to make clear how the current social order was disintegrating without preparing another to take its place.   Most of the audiobook relates to the author’s personal experiences as the guest of Taoist recluses practicing, amidst surroundings of exquisite natural beauty, the ego free Taoist art of ‘doing by not doing’. This is an interesting listen for those with general interest in Taoist philosophy.
