Inspired by everyday circumstances the poetess has tried to put the experiences of day-to-day life like pearls in a necklace. This book is written as a collection of poems in Hindi & Urdu mix, which may provide an expression to your feelings too. It is well said that Life is practically the same all around the world, so you enjoy these poems and at the same time use them to update your various social media statuses. The book is written in a series of memory lane vignettes depicting memories of Selia’s life with an ex-wise guy. The book starts at the end of the story and through the vignettes of the ups and downs of living with him and how a person’s past can follow them wherever they go. The story ends where it started. The love story between the couple who met late in life is dramatic and quite heated. The depiction of how hospice helped Selia through her husband’s dying process was a dramatic life-learning situation.

I am staring at a blank piece of paper, wondering what to write. Where do I begin? My mind begins to wander-pleasant thoughts of Disney's Fantasia dance in my head. The dancing hippopotamus comes to mind, and this made me laugh. The result: I penned a poem on the hippopotamus from which a chapbook was born: The Usefulness of Hippopotamus: A Humorous Chapbook for Trying Times.
One cannot imagine a world without humor. Without humor, the world will be dark, cold, and a sad place, tragically lacking joy, cheerfulness, and laughter.
Humor is medicine. During rough times, humor will help lighten and lessen physical and mental anxiety.
In challenging times, I chose humor. During the Pandemic, I had to deal with my bladder cancer. In my struggle not to get depressed or dwell in negativity, to find solace, contentment, and peace, I chose to seek out beauty and laugh.
In search of happiness, the humor worked its charm, resulting in a treasure chest of joy. So, I wrote my chapbook, The Usefulness of Hippopotamus: A Humorous Chapbook for Trying Times and discovered humor even among the hippopotami!
    You can, too.
Peace & flowers. Love & light.

A play that tackles climate breakdown with big ideas, a lot of laughs, and some truly grotesque cabaret numbers.
Cruise ships, horny/murderous songbirds, fecund/fatalistic rabbits, loving/bruising parents and Minnie Riperton all make an appearance in this play with songs, which asks if things can ever get better.
HOTHOUSE by Carys D. Coburn with MALAPROP Theatre was first staged at Project Arts Centre, Dublin, as part of the 2023 Dublin Fringe Festival.
MALAPROP Theatre is an award-winning collective of Irish theatremakers, who seek to challenge, delight and speak to the world we live in (even when imagining different ones).
