Synopsis

Yet if he holds your hand and crosses the road, he will keep you in check. The cold water that he brings before he asks for water when he is thirsty really understands you. The one who keeps you in the shade while standing in the sun, the one who does not allow you to carry even a 500 gram weight purse will not lack care. If you don't have a tissue that can wipe the sweat off your face with the sleeve of your shirt, you may not notice more than that. The one who meets all your childish whims with a smile really loves you! And there is no need to lose after finding someone like that. If possible, avoid all misunderstandings and third person. The happiness of girls is not limited to any BCS cadre, doctor or engineer. The pot designated by the parents may be able to support their daughter but may fail to provide peace of mind. Because to be good, you need to be a loving person.
Life is beautiful when there is love.

Yes I Can: Learn to use the power of self-efficacy, is a practical and personal book founded on solid psychological concepts. Dr Laura Ritchie is a Chartered Psychologist, Professor of Learning and Teaching, and importantly she is someone who found her YES. Yes I Can addresses the topics of perception, perspective, self-efficacy beliefs, metacognition, self-regulation, and agency by presenting these psychological concepts through a uniquely inviting and approachable, storytelling voice. Laura interweaves psychological theory with personal stories, told in a memoir-like way, drawing upon experience from her musical, academic, and personal life. The important aspect of these stories is not that they are about ‘Laura’ but act as a bridge between research and everyday practice, and serve as a lens for the reader to look both at and into their own experience.
This book will transform your understanding and perception of ‘can’ to become a fundamental part of life. More than a mindset, it is about understanding the processes underlying self-beliefs, which allow you to move from wherever you are through the vision of possibility to achieve your goals. Strategic thinking, instead of grit or willpower, serves to allow you to adopt the yes in your daily life.

Here is a modern grimoire and record of a vision quest utilizing Aleister Crowley’s instructions for astral exploration as given in “Notes on the Astral Plane,” published in Magick in Theory and Practice.Daniel Gunther provides a detailed account and interpretation of a series of visions exploring the Pylons of the Duat, or “Starry Abode.” To the ancient Egyptians, the Duat was the place where the sun god Ra made his 12-hour nocturnal journey through the underworld. The Visions of the Pylons describes a perilous journey where the gate of each hour is protected by a fearful guardian or “watcher.” In modern Jungian psychology terms, the Duat is a representation of the unconscious of mankind, inhabited by gods and daemons, the living symbols called primordial images or archetypes. The author’s study of the ancient texts led him to suspect that these Pylons were also hidden gateways to the higher planes of the Tree of Life, possibly including secret entrances to the thirty Aethyrs as described by Elizabethan magician John Dee.

After his father's passing, David Shih sought to unravel the underlying tensions that defined the complex relationship between him and his parents. Ultimately, this forced a reckoning with the expectations he encountered as the only son of Chinese immigrants, and with the realities of what it means to be Asian in a de facto segregated country. At a moment when anti-Asian racism is increasingly overt, Chinese Prodigal is a work of rare subtlety, offering a new vocabulary for understanding a racial hierarchy too often conceived as binary. In public life and in Shih's own, "Asian Americanness" has changed shape constantly, directed by the needs of the country's racial imaginary. A memoir in essays, Chinese Prodigal examines the emergence of "Asian American" identity in a post–Civil Rights America in the wake of Vincent Chin's death. Shih guides us through the roles offered to Asian Americans to play, illuminating what these issues have to teach us about American values and about the vexed place Asians and Asian Americans inhabit today. Shih masterfully captures the intimate costs of becoming an American.Chinese Prodigal knits together the personal, the historical, and the present, offering an incisive examination of a society and the people it has never made space for. It is a moving testimony of a son, father, and citizen.

In the seventeenth-century English Atlantic, religious beliefs and practices played a central role in creating racial identity. English Protestantism provided a vocabulary and structure to describe and maintain boundaries between insider and outsider. In this path-breaking study, Heather MiyanoKopelson peels back the layers of conflicting definitions of bodies and competing practices of faith in the puritan Atlantic, demonstrating how the categories of “white,” “black,” and “Indian” developed alongside religious boundaries between “Christian” and “heathen” and between “Catholic” and “Protestant.”Faithful Bodies focuses on three communities of Protestant dissent in the Atlantic World: Bermuda,Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. In this “puritan Atlantic,” religion determined insider and outsider status: at times Africans and Natives could belong as long as they embraced the Protestant faith, while Irish Catholics and English Quakers remained suspect. Colonists’ interactions with indigenous peoples of the Americas and with West Central Africans shaped their understandings of human difference and its acceptable boundaries. Prayer, religious instruction, sexual behavior, and other public and private acts became markers of whether or not blacks and Indians were sinning Christians or godless heathens. As slavery became law, transgressing people of color counted less and less as sinners in English puritans’ eyes, even as some of them made Christianity an integral part of their communities. As Kopelson shows, this transformation proceeded unevenly but inexorably during the long seventeenth century.

    A Guide to Hitler's Munich

Packed with historically significant locations, this history and guide offers a unique look at Munich as the site of Hitler’s rise to power.

Munich is one of Europe's most enchanting cities. It is a delight to explore its cobblestone streets and sunlight boulevards with views of the Bavarian Alps—especially during its world-famous Oktoberfest. Yet many visitors know that Munich also has a dark past.

The Bavarian capital played a unique role in the ascent of Adolf Hitler, Nazism, and the Third Reich. It was in Munich that Hitler first entered the murky world of beer Keller politics after the First World War. It was also where he established the fanatical base of his NSDAP party. The city was, in his words, ‘the capital of the movement’.

This illustrative new book explains how Munich became inextricably linked with the rise and fall of Nazism. It provides the modern reader with a detailed guide to what happened where in the city, why those events were important in the unfolding history of the Third Reich – and why they remain an important warning today.
