Martha Nussbaum is one of the most influential philosophers of our time, particularly known for her contributions to feminist theory, political philosophy, and ethics. A professor at the University of Chicago, her work spans a wide array of topics including justice, human capabilities, human rights, and the role of emotions in moral decision-making. Nussbaum’s ideas have significantly impacted both academic philosophy and practical policy, with her innovative theories offering valuable insights into the intersection of ethics, politics, and human development.
At the heart of Nussbaum’s intellectual journey is the development of the capabilities approach, a framework she co-created with economist Amartya Sen. This approach is centered on the idea that justice should be evaluated based on individuals’ abilities to function and achieve various important life goals, rather than simply on income or wealth. The capabilities approach emphasizes human dignity and focuses on the conditions that allow people to live lives they have reason to value. It challenges traditional views of social justice by broadening the scope of what constitutes a flourishing life beyond mere economic success.
Nussbaum’s feminist philosophy is also pivotal in understanding her work. As an advocate for gender equality, she has critiqued traditional philosophical frameworks that have marginalized women’s voices and experiences. Her feminist perspective emphasizes the importance of recognizing the diverse and often undervalued roles that women play in society, and she works toward reshaping institutions to ensure that women’s capabilities are supported and nurtured. Nussbaum argues that feminism is not just about advocating for women’s rights but also about advancing a more inclusive and just society for all people, regardless of gender.

Today he's Lord Cruddas of Shoreditch, the founder of a £1.5 billion financial trading company and a distinguished philanthropist, giving to over 200 charities through his foundation, which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Fed up with Labour's economic mismanagement, Cruddas began his foray into politics, becoming a key Conservative Party donor. But after being elevated to treasurer in 2011, he fell victim to a Sunday Times sting in which he was falsely accused of breaking the law on party donations. With unflinching honesty, he reveals the full story of his successful libel battle and opens a Pandora's box of profound wider questions about newspaper dark arts and the power of the British press over the judicial system.
Refusing to be scared off from the political world, Cruddas co-founded the winning Vote Leave campaign. Here, he gives a detailed insider view of the real reasons behind the victory and contemplates how Britain can now thrive outside the EU.
Filled with heartbreak and elation, this is the extraordinary story of Cruddas's epic rise from an east London council estate to a Mayfair mansion – and includes plenty of tips for budding billionaires.

William Wymark Jacobs was born on 8th September 1863 in Wapping, East London.
He was educated at a private school and then Birkbeck Literary and Scientific Institution, now part of the University of London.
In 1879, Jacobs began work as a clerk in the civil service, in the Post Office Savings Bank. In 1885 his first short story was published but it was not until almost the turn of the century that he would abandon his post office career to that as a full-time writer. By then he was a very popular author, his collections selling extremely well and with an excellent income.
His best-known work is the macabre ‘The Monkey's Paw’ and he is also highly regarded for his ghost stories although much of his remaining short story output is streaked with humour. His characters are immediately identifiable and we all know that life will take chunks out of them in no time at all.
Jacobs married the noted suffragette Agnes Eleanor Williams in 1900 at West Ham, Essex. They went on to have two daughters and three sons as they settled down to life.
By the outbreak of the First World War his literary output had declined and he now mainly spent his time rewriting his earlier stories for the stage. In all he wrote 18 plays.
W W Jacobs died on 1st September 1943 at Hornsey Lane, Islington in London. He was 79.

In 1978, Steven Kubacki disappeared without a trace near Lake Michigan. Fifteen months later, he reappeared—disoriented, in unfamiliar clothes, and claiming no memory of what had happened. For over four decades, the mystery of his disappearance gripped armchair detectives, Reddit sleuths, and TikTok theorists. Now, for the first time, Kubacki tells his story in his own words.

The Disappearance is not just a memoir—it's a reckoning with identity, conspiracy, and higher consciousness. With raw honesty and philosophical depth, Kubacki unpacks his past as a rebellious student, the secrets behind the Nexalistic Revolutionary Front (NRF), and his journey through spiritual encounters, political awakening, and a mission to change the world.

This is the untold truth behind one of the most baffling disappearances in American history. Blending memoir, manifesto, and metaphysical exploration, The Disappearance takes listeners into interdimensional realities, clandestine operations, and Kubacki's decades-long search for meaning in a chaotic world.
