Synopsis

In this series of previously-untranslated lectures, Rudolf Steiner describes how myths and legends portray humanity's most ancient evolutionary and spiritual history. Folklore presents ancient mystical wisdom in the form of stories – clothed in pictures by initiates – that enable individuals to understand their content in a more intellectual form at a later time.Focusing on Greek and Germanic mythology, the lectures in the first part of this volume cover the chronicles of Prometheus, Daedalus and Icarus, Parzival and Lohengrin, the Argonauts and the Odyssey, and the heroic dragon-slayer Siegfried. From these focal points, Rudolf Steiner discusses a variety of themes – from the mysteries of the Druids and the founding of Rome to the esoteric background of Wolfram von Eschenbach; from good and evil and the unjust death sentence on Socrates to the significance of marriage..The second part of this book features lectures on the nature and significance of the musical dramas of Richard Wagner. Wagner's works, from his earliest attempts to his most mature opera Parsifal, are discussed from spiritual viewpoints. Although Wagner did not have a fully conscious awareness of the deeper meanings of his compositions, Steiner suggests that his shaping of Germanic legends was driven by an instinctive, creative and artistic certainty that accords with deep occult truths.

Addressing Doubts about God's Justice and Goodness in the Face of Evil

This wasn’t part of the plan. The story wasn’t supposed to go this way. I didn’t sign up for this. If you’ve ever had these thoughts, chances are that your story has shifted in some unexpected way. Perhaps it’s even turned totally upside down, and you’re wondering how in the world to move forward. You’re not alone. As author Sarah Frazer journeys with you through the story of Moses, you’ll find that even a hero of God’s people faced all sorts of confusing and painful plot twists too. Moses didn’t settle in the Promised Land, but He met the Lord of Promise. His legacy reminds us that even with a life crushed with disappointment, God’s plan goes forth, God’s presence provides, God’s promises are personal, and God’s purpose is never thwarted. As you journey through his life in these pages, you’ll discover: how life’s plot twists and interruptions are actually the ways God is working how God uses the darkest circumstances to proclaim His sovereign goodness how to number your days rightly, recognize God’s hand in each branch of your path, and cultivate a heart of wisdom and trust how to say goodbye to disillusionment and instead invite God’s plan, presence, promises, and purpose back into your heart. Friend, let God pick you up and show you how to grow through whatever detour, setback, heartache, or disappointment life has thrown at you. Like Moses, you may not have signed up for the path you’re on, but God can—and will—see you through it.

Visitation addresses the topic of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) from the perspective of a Christian witness to an encounter with one. As distinct from the usual encounter narratives, the author’s encounter changed his mindset from an agnostic to a Christian believer while endowing him with an unexpected richness of information regarding the nature of God. While much of the account is devoted to describing the event and its more important aftermath, the author also links the UFO phenomenon to God and the Bible, supplying unique insights into the character and interactive roles of the three Members of the Holy Godhead.

Mark Morgan (Bible Tales Online – www.BibleTales.online)

Jehoiakim’s body is dumped outside the gates of Jerusalem, and his son Jeconiah reigns briefly over a city under siege.
Jeconiah surrenders and King Nebuchadnezzar takes him to Babylon – as Jeremiah had predicted – along with thousands of others.
Zedekiah promises to be Nebuchadnezzar’s vassal, but is weak and easily led. Will he listen to Jeremiah or to his advisors?
Can Jeremiah survive the sly schemes of his enemies or will the promised disaster overtake them all?
In Judah, the darkness is deepening.
Terror on Every Side! – The series
The words of God came to Jeremiah as a fire, burning within him, and with them, his lifetime mission – a prophet to the nations.
Jeremiah was a prophet of God for over 40 years, warning of judgement on the nation of Judah and all the nations around. Few would listen at all, and fewer still would take him seriously. Jeremiah lived to see the prophecies of destruction come true. No-one would believe his words until it was too late – and then there was Terror on Every Side!
