Synopsis

With these fundamental lectures on speech eurythmy – given just months after his course entitled 'Eurythmy as Visible Singing' – Rudolf Steiner completed the foundations of the new art of movement. In connecting to the centuries-old esoteric and exoteric Western traditions of 'the Word' – the creative power in the sounds of the divine-human alphabet – he gave it concrete form and expression in the performing arts, education and therapy. Although aimed primarily at the professional concerns of eurythmists who perform, teach or work as therapists, the lectures offer a wealth of suggestions and insights to anyone interested in the arts. For this new edition – freshly translated by Matthew Barton and introduced by Coralee Frederickson – the original shorthand transcripts have been compared exhaustively with typed records and the notes of course participants. These notes included numerous sketches of movements, gestures and choreographies, many of which have been reproduced here to complement the text. Also featured is an appendix comprising facsimiles and transcripts of Rudolf Steiner's preparatory notes, programmes of the eurythmy performances given during the course, and accounts by Steiner published in the Society Newsletter. Finally, there are recollections by course participants, additional sketches of forms and movements, Marie Steiner's original foreword, and 30 pages of colour plates featuring blackboard drawings and eurythmy forms. Fifteen lectures, Dornach, Jun.-July 1924, GA 279. 32pp colour plates

Let the life of Abraham enrich your faith Abraham is a foundational figure in the history of the church. But he is at the same time profoundly human, raw and real. Isolated in an unbelieving world, his story shows what it means for the Lord to take hold of a sinner, privilege him with promises, use him in his service and sustain him to the end. Given the current cultural dislocation of Christianity, the central thread of Abraham's life is increasingly relevant. Ultimately, it speaks of a believer looking to a city with eternal foundations, and that story speaks powerfully to us as strangers and exiles in our world.

In today's world, where Western culture and social media promote the idea of perfection, many people in the Christian community are struggling to find their true identity. This disconnection distances individuals from their genuine selves, God-given purpose, and calling in Christ.
Despite this turmoil, Peter L. Morton's life serves as a source of hope for those who feel lost and disconnected from their true selves. Pete is a globally recognized security consultant who had previously served as an intelligence officer in the US Army.
His life and career showcase the strength of transformation. Pete's story is not just about his journey from being a disengaged individual to leading troops in perilous combat zones across the world but also about discovering his true identity and calling in Christ.
His experiences around the world, which include serving on the front lines as an infantryman and intelligence officer and his influential roles as a security consultant and humanitarian, represent a transformation from a life of complacency to one of purpose and authenticity.
