Ghoul is about a little girl named Violet, who lives in a small mountain town on the edge of a misty forest. The town has recently been hit with a mysterious plague. Many vulnerable people have fallen ill, and are in desperate need of
medicine. The mayor has forbidden all the townspeople from travelling through the misty forest, because all who venture near the borders are never seen again. It takes one week to safely travel around the misty forest, but Violet only has
three days to deliver the medicine to her sick great aunt.
In desperation and against all odds, brave Violet takes the forbidden shortcut path through the terrifying misty forest, to save her sick great aunt. She must use all her wits to survive this perilous journey, and will learn a few valuable lessons
along the way. It is known that the misty forest is riddled with ghosts and monsters, and parents often tell the scary tale of the misty forest to warn children about the dangers. However, all is not quite what it seems…
Beyond the barren meadow, over the mountain pass, brave warriors fear to venture there, beware if you're a child.
The howling screams, the screeching bats, that shiver goes down to your knees, the misty swamp and icy winds, crick… crinkling through the trees.
At midnight, in the darkest hour, the monsters come out to feast, those fearsome beasts of vicious dreams, howling and gnashing their teeth.
But an evil monster more terrifying exists, foul, deceptive and cruel, the wickedest creature of them all, beware the two-faced Ghoul.

Joshua could not help it that he was the smallest kid in high school. For Porkey and his buddies though this was unforgivable. They bugged him every chance they got. He was locked in his own locker several times. Once they even put him in upside down. They really loved to do flushies to him in the boys bathroom. They would hold him upside down with his head in the toilet water and flush it. It didn’t matter to them if there was stuff in the toilet or not. If there was? That made their cruelty all the more jovial. If they cornered him outside? You can imagine what they did or tried to do to him if they were not stopped by someone else.
As the story goes those bullies would have eventually killed him had not Mr. Fiddles intervened. You see, Joshua lived in an area of the United States where at certain times, time anomalies occurred. If a person got caught in one unaware of what was happening, they could end up being propelled forward or backward in time. Mr. Fiddles had figured out how to manipulate these anomalies. So when a newspaper from the future reported the death of his neighbor from bullying, he set things in motion to prevent it.
What will happen to Joshua and will he ever be able to confront those bullies and stop their cruelty before they murder him? Bullying is a real problem not only in the US but worldwide. Every kid that has ever been the recipient of cruel pranks like Joshua endured would love to turn the tables on their tormentors. Perhaps there is a way? This story will allow for a debate on cruel pranks and bullying. It is the author’s purpose in this story to bring awareness to this problem and possible solutions for readers of all ages.

The Veldt by Ray Bradbury - Do you wonder what goes on in your children’s minds? The Hadleys did–and they dared enter the forbidden doorway to The World The Children Made.
“George, I wish you’d look at the nursery.”
    “What’s wrong with it?”
    “I don’t know.”
    “Well, then.”
“I just want you to look at it, is all, or call a psychologist in to look at it.”
“What would a psychologist want with a nursery?” “
You know very well what he’d want.” His wife paused in the middle of the kitchen and watched the stove busy humming to itself, making supper for four. “It’s just that the nursery is different now than it was.”
“All right, let’s have a look.” They walked down the hall of their soundproofed Happylife Home, which had cost them thirty thousand dollars installed, this house which clothed and fed and rocked them to sleep and played and sang and was good to them. Their approach sensitized a switch somewhere and the nursery light flicked on when they came within ten feet of it. Similarly, behind them, in the halls, lights went on and off as they left them behind, with a soft automaticity.
“Well,” said George Hadley. They stood on the grass-like floor of the nursery. It was forty feet across by forty feet long and thirty feet high; it had cost half again as much as the rest of the house. “But nothing’s too good for our children,” George had said.
