  In this biting comedy of errors, the hapless Arnolphe is undone by his own double dealing and double standards.   Tartuffe
   
  Initially banned in by King Louis XIV, Molière’s most famous satire exposes hypocrisy in the Catholic Church. A pious fraud manipulates the patriarch of a wealthy family into giving up his fortune, and it’s up to his family to expose the truth before they end up in the poor house. Performed by: Brian Bedford, Martin Jarvis, et al.
  
  The Misanthrope
  Razor-sharp wit inflames a competitive game of survival in the salons of 17th century France. In this world of "finest appearances", one man’s blunt honesty shatters his society’s delicate web of manners in what is often considered to be Molière’s Hamlet. Performed by: Harry Althaus, et al.

  An unkempt man sits in a dingy and extremely untidy bedsit room. A half brick crashes through his window. Unsurprised, the man resignedly attempts to clear up the broken glass, succeeding only in cutting his hand. A knock at his door is unwelcome but persistent so he opens it to admit the bustling Mrs. G. who announces herself as the local cleaning lady. She saw the brick-throwing incident and wanted to know if the man was injured. Over the course of the audio drama Mrs. G. sets about clearing up the man’s flat and does her best to clear up his life, too. Tidying the flat is one thing, but bringing her idea of order to the man’s situation and thinking proves far more complex, despite her best efforts. Ultimately, for what she sees as the good of all concerned, she applies the final cleaning solution to the situation. After all, if you don’t deal with it effectively, dirt spreads.

  A Free Man of Color is set in boisterous New Orleans prior to the historic Louisiana Purchase. Before law and order took hold and class, racial, and political lines were drawn, New Orleans was a carnival of beautiful women, flowing wine, and pleasure for the taking. At the center of this Dionysian world is Jacques Cornet, a mixed-race gentleman who commands men, seduces women, and preens like a peacock. But it is 1801 and the map of New Orleans is about to be redrawn. The Louisiana Purchase brings American rule and racial segregation to the chaotic, colorful world of Jacques Cornet and all that he represents, turning the tables on freedom and liberty.

  Pronoun was commissioned as part of the 2014 National Theatre Connections Festival and premiered by youth theatres across the UK. Especially written for young actors, the play can be performed by a cast of seven, with some doubling of roles, or a much larger cast.
