Who is this thing? He or better IT, first appears in "Nyarlathotep" (1920), and is described as a "tall, swarthy man" who resembles an ancient Egyptian pharaoh. In this story he wanders the Earth, seemingly gathering legions of followers, the narrator of the story among them, through his demonstrations of strange and seemingly magical instruments. These followers lose awareness of the world around them, and through the narrator's increasingly unreliable accounts, the reader gets an impression of the world's collapse. This is an eerie and unsettling story.
Nyarlathotep differs from the other beings in a number of ways. Most of them are exiled to stars, like Yog-Sothoth and Hastur, or sleeping and dreaming like Cthulhu; Nyarlathotep, however, is active and frequently walks the Earth in the guise of a human being, usually a tall, slim, joyous man. He has "a thousand" other forms, most of these reputed to be maddeningly horrific. Most of the Outer Gods have their own cults serving them; Nyarlathotep seems to serve these cults and take care of the deities' affairs in their absence. Most of the gods use strange alien languages, but Nyarlathotep uses human languages and can be mistaken for a human being. The other Outer Gods and Great Old Ones are often described as mindless or unfathomable rather than truly malevolent, but Nyarlathotep delights in cruelty, is deceptive and manipulative, and even cultivates followers and uses propaganda to achieve his goals.
Nyarlathotep enacts the will of the Outer Gods, and is their messenger, heart and soul; he is also a servant of Azathoth, his father, whose wishes he immediately fulfills. Unlike the other Outer Gods, causing madness is more important and enjoyable than death and destruction to Nyarlathotep. It is suggested by some that he will destroy the human race and possibly the Earth as well.

Robert E. Howard’s "Pigeons from Hell" is a chilling Southern Gothic horror tale blending supernatural terror with a grim, oppressive atmosphere. It follows two travellers, John Branner and Griswell, who become stranded in the deep South and take refuge in an abandoned plantation house, the decaying remnants of the Blassenville family estate. The house is eerily silent, save for the presence of strange pigeons roosting in the rafters.
One of Howard’s most famous horror stories, Pigeons from Hell is a masterful blend of ghostly dread, gruesome violence, and atmospheric storytelling, showcasing his talent beyond sword-and-sorcery fiction. It remains one of the finest examples of Southern Gothic horror in pulp literature.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
From Digital Fable Forge comes a cinematic audio-drama of H. P. Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu. Music and immersive sound design pair with a cast of digital voice actors to trace a mystery from dusty notes to a storm-lashed sea. Lightly modernized and adapted for audio, this is the old terror reborn—best experienced with headphones.
New to the tale? A researcher inherits a dead professor’s papers and uncovers a pattern: fevered dreams that spread like a sickness, a hidden cult whispering one name, and a sailor’s log from an impossible city risen from the deep. Piece by piece, the fragments point to a sleeping, ancient power—Cthulhu—and to the awful truth that some things remember us.

During a canoe trip on the Danube, two men are forced to stop on an island due to the current. What was supposed to be a peaceful temporary camping experience turns into a disturbing and supernatural ordeal: the willows covering the island seem to move and whisper in the wind, giving the impression of being alive; the presence of hostile and terrifying invisible entities is perceived, casting doubt on every capacity for rational thought. The narrative force, the voices, the evocative power of the music and sounds effects create a growing tension in the listener, who – as it happens to the two protagonists – will find themselves involved in a battle between the real and the surreal.Classic horror tales, reinterpreted in a modern key and narrated with music and sound effects.
