Beschreibung

"Canary Deployments in Modern Software Engineering""Canary Deployments in Modern Software Engineering" is the definitive guide to understanding, implementing, and optimizing canary release strategies in today’s fast-moving technological landscape. The book begins by tracing the evolution of software deployment methodologies, providing readers with a solid grounding in the fundamental principles and operational philosophies that have elevated canary deployments as a preferred approach for mitigating risk in continuous delivery. Through in-depth analysis, it contrasts canary deployments with other release patterns, dissecting both their benefits and limitations, and shares real-world lessons gleaned from actual failures and recovery efforts.Spanning architectural patterns from microservices and containerized applications to integrations with edge locations, CDNs, and service meshes, the book delivers actionable strategies for embedding canary principles into both modern and legacy systems. Readers are guided through designing robust pipelines—covering everything from success metrics, user segmentation, and progressive rollout to automated rollback and chaos engineering—all while balancing the trade-offs between developer empowerment and centralized orchestration. Detailed discussions of advanced routing mechanics, traffic shaping algorithms, failover techniques, and blast radius mitigation further enable engineering teams to confidently manage risk at scale. The book’s comprehensive perspective extends to observability and security, illustrating how deep instrumentation, automated rollback, anomaly detection, and real-time feedback loops form a resilient safety net for high-stakes releases. It addresses regulatory, compliance, and privacy needs, explores leading tools and CI/CD integrations, and offers wisdom tailored to scaling and operating at enterprise levels. Culminating in candid case studies and thoughtful projections on the future of canary engineering—including the infusion of AI and chaos experimentation—this volume is an essential resource for anyone seeking to deliver safer, faster, and smarter software in production environments.

Gain a broader understanding of Data Mesh and logical architecture.
Have you ever asked yourself why you need to learn about Data Mesh?
What is their use in our daily life?
Have you ever wondered what the logical architecture is for a data mesh?
Your data is like a mesh. It's everywhere, and it's connected.
You have data on your servers, your networks, and your clients. And it's not just one kind of data—it's all different types that need to be organized and made sense of to be useful. The problem is that these data types are often stored in different places with different formats, making them hard to access and use together.
This book will help you understand the root causes of this problem and how to solve them using today's most advanced techniques in data management.
It is a book about the structure of a data mesh. It defines data mesh, how it works, and why you might want to use it.
In this book, you will:Learn the Data Mesh, its state, and its futureLearn about the practical uses of Data MeshGet background knowledge about Data Mesh with concrete examplesMaster Domain Ownership PrincipleDiscover the principle behind the self-serve data platformLearn about the federated computational government principleDiscover the point of inflectionMaster the logical architecture
Data Mesh is not just a framework; it's an approach to data modeling that emphasizes simplicity, clarity, and scalability. This book will teach you how to use Data Mesh to build a logical architecture that scales.

The Honey Trap - How the Good...

The last decade has seen an explosion of urban beekeeping in the US, Canada, and Europe, a well-intentioned response to perceived threats to the global honey bee population. Many thousands of people have taken up this seemingly environmentally friendly hobby, tending backyard and rooftop hives (or paying a company to do so) and encouraging honey bees to make honey and pollinate flowers. What could be wrong with that?

Quite a lot, in fact. In The Honey Trap, scientist and author Dana Church demonstrates that despite reports to the contrary, honey bees are nowhere near extinction. Rather, their nurturing by urban beekeepers is having far-reaching and potentially devastating consequences for the 19,999 other species of bees on the planet, with knock-on effects for plants, both cultivated and wild, and our ecosystems more generally.

With engaging storytelling and a wealth of knowledge about bees and their ways, Church unravels the complexities of human interactions with our winged friends and demonstrates how dangerously selfish our thinking can be. It's a wake-up call for humanity to embrace sustainable practices and protect these vital pollinators before it's too late.

Allergies are an overreaction of the immune system to substances that are typically harmless to most people. These substances, known as allergens, can include food, pollen, dust, pet dander, insect venom, and certain medications. When an allergic individual comes into contact with an allergen, their immune system mistakenly identifies it as a threat and triggers a defensive response. This response can range from mild symptoms, such as sneezing or a skin rash, to severe and potentially life-threatening reactions like anaphylaxis.
The immune system plays a central role in allergic reactions. Normally, it defends the body against harmful pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. However, in individuals with allergies, the immune system misidentifies allergens as dangerous invaders. The primary component involved in allergic reactions is Immunoglobulin E (IgE), a type of antibody that binds to specific allergens. This binding signals immune cells, such as mast cells and basophils, to release histamine and other inflammatory chemicals, leading to symptoms like swelling, redness, itching, and respiratory distress.
Allergic reactions are classified into different types based on the mechanism and timing of the immune response. Immediate hypersensitivity reactions occur within minutes of allergen exposure and are mediated by IgE. These reactions include hay fever, asthma attacks, and food allergies. Delayed hypersensitivity reactions, on the other hand, take several hours or even days to develop and involve different immune pathways, such as T-cell activation. Contact dermatitis, a reaction to certain chemicals or metals, is an example of a delayed allergic response.
