Sergeant Ben Gibson and his son Cooper are gradually settling into life in the rural city of Clarkdale in Central Victoria having decided to make it their permanent home. As they slowly recover from the devastating death of Ben’s wife and daughter Ben begins to consider the possibility of finding love again.
In Operation Counterstrike Senior Constable Cassandra Morrow and police dog Samson, a feisty two-year-old Rottweiler, are sent to Clarkdale to complete their six-month operational training phase. It's a steep learning curve for Cassie and Samson as they work to develop their operational skills under Ben’s supervision.
Meanwhile, a dangerous criminal gang have moved into the area to expand their national counterfeiting operation. The gang’s clever scheme has been reaping huge financial rewards right under the nose of various government agencies. That is until Ben’s police dog, Sabre creates the first cracks in their ingenious plan thanks to his incredible sense of smell.
The Victoria Police and Australian Federal Police departments launch an operation code named Counterstrike. Their goal is to identify, locate and arrest the counterfeiters and in particular the gang leader, Cliff Samuels, known to be a cold-blooded killer.
Ben and Cassie and their canine partners become central characters in the search for the offenders as the police struggle to identify the “inside men” who are assisting the gang.
Book 2 in the Dog Cops series provides an intriguing insight into the capabilities of the police dogs, the techniques used to crack criminal gangs and how the power of money has the ability to turn anyone to a life of crime.

Once upon a time, my heart was broken. Wrecked beyond repair.
Then I met him, a man who wasn’t like anyone before.
Who didn’t see the world like others saw it.
He wasn’t supposed to fall in love with me. The girl nobody wanted. A soul destined to save others, when she couldn’t save herself.
I didn’t believe him when he said I was his.
    But darkness belongs with darkness.
And love doesn’t always equal pain.
Maybe fairytales do exist for women like me.

In a world where history and progress often collide, The Reawakening follows a series of forgotten communities on the brink of decline—until an unexpected force breathes new life into them. As ancient legacies intertwine with modern innovation, residents uncover the hidden roles their towns have played across epochs, from secret revolutionary outposts to scientific hubs lost to time. With each revelation, they find themselves at the heart of a grand restoration, where past, present, and future are seamlessly woven together.
But revitalization comes with its own struggles—long-buried conflicts resurface, generations clash over the meaning of preservation, and an unseen adversary seeks to suppress the truth. As tensions rise, the people must decide: Will they embrace their newfound purpose and reclaim their significance, or will history erase them once more? The Reawakening is a powerful narrative of resilience, community, and the enduring spirit that shapes civilizations.

Kenneth Grahame was born on 8th March 1859 in Edinburgh.
At age 5 his mother succumbed to puerperal fever. His father, who had a drinking problem, now sent his 4 children to live with their grandmother at her large house in Cookham, Berkshire. Here the children lived in large open grounds next to the river. These early experiences would in later years, be retold in his writing through a myriad of characters.
Grahame loved being a pupil at St Edward's School, Oxford and wanted to enroll at the university there but his guardian demurred on account of the cost.
Instead, a banking career was chosen for him, starting in 1879 at the Bank of England, where he rose steadily to the rank of its Secretary until retiring, with a pension, in 1908 due to ill health.
Alongside his commercial career Grahame had written and published various stories and essays in several periodicals. Some were anthologized as ‘Pagan Papers’ in 1893, and two years later ‘The Golden Age’ and later still ‘Dream Days’ and its masterpiece ‘The Reluctant Dragon’ became part of many home libraries. His ability to view life through the lens of a young and curious child was superb, enabling the reader to easily identify with the character.
Grahame married Elspeth Thomson in 1899 and they had one child; Alastair, born semi-blind and plagued by health problems. In a heart-rending tragedy he would later take his own life whilst attending Oxford University in 1920.
In 1908 Grahame reworked many of the bedtime stories he had fashioned for his son into the enduring favourite; ‘The Wind in the Willows’, describing the heart-warming adventures of Mr Toad and his friends.
Kenneth Grahame died in Pangbourne, Berkshire, on 6th July 1932.

A covert cop becomes a target when she picks the wrong cover story.

The Treadwater Estate has become the epicenter of a series of strange events. People go missing. Bodies are found—buried and wrapped in clingfilm. Yet there appears to be no connection between the victims and no motive for the crimes.

The estate looks anonymous, its residents inscrutable. Door-to-door inquiries fall flat. No one has seen anything, everyone resents the police presence. Someone must be hiding in plain sight.

Faced with a wall of silence, to dig deeper DI Tara Grogan must get closer to the action than is safe. Not being from the area, a local choir provides her with an entry point. But will the very guise that she adopts to be accepted into the community, that of a reformed con, be her undoing?

If her cover is blown, her life is in danger. But if she doesn't push her luck to the limits, a killer will get away with it.
