The inspiration behind Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America came from Jefferson Davis' 1860 address to the US Senate. Ibram X. Kendi’s unparalleled vigor as a champion for antiracism transforms Davis’ litany into a lens that magnifies America’s transgressions against the Blacks. He chronicled racism’s painful history from its beginnings in Portugal half a century ago. He also narrates how the racist system's insidious metamorphosis adapts to the modern consciousness that is "aversive and intolerant" of racial prejudice and discrimination.
It took Kendi four years to release his second book, Stamped from the Beginning. Furthermore, his revolutionary and gripping retelling has won him the National Book Award (NBA) for Nonfiction, making him the youngest awardee at 34.

The Psychopath Exposed: Understanding and Dealing with an Emotional Predator is not just another book about psychopaths/sociopaths; it saves you time! You can listen to it in about one hour and get all the information you need to understand and deal with a psychopath or sociopath.Yes it also teaches you how to deal with a psychopath/sociopath! Dealing with psychopaths will naturally cause controversy, with some claiming that it's dangerous, or impossible. I never liked the word "impossible". While I designed the methods in my book to be as safe as possible, dealing with a psychopath/sociopath is always potentially risky, regardless of whether you do nothing or something. But I don't underestimate the intelligence of you, the listener, so I list all my methods, whether some consider them "dangerous" or not. Naturally it is up to you to decide which method you should use.Yes I also write about the usual: how to understand a psychopath/sociopathWhat is the typical psychopath behavior? Are all psychopaths the same?Do psychopaths have any "normal" feelings and needs?Do psychopaths have any "normal" relations with other people? Why does a psychopath care so little about other people and their feelings? Why and how does a psychopath manipulate you?Why and how does a psychopath enter a "romantic relationship"?Is psychopathy curable? Are psychopaths evil? How do you deal with a psychopath? How do you discontinue a relationship with a psychopath?Who is this book for? This book was created first and foremost for regular people and will, in a quick and easy way, explain all you need to know about psychopaths for practical purposes. It will teach you what a psychopath is and how they "think", with practical tips on what you can do to prevent being emotionally and psychologically compromised.

In the shadows of South Carolina's lowcountry, one woman witnessed the unraveling of America's most notorious legal dynasty.
Blanca Turrubiate-Simpson never imagined that her position within the Murdaugh household would place her at the epicenter of a scandal that would captivate the nation. For years, she observed the carefully constructed facade of power, privilege, and Southern gentility that concealed a darker truth—a web of corruption, deceit, and ultimately, murder.
Now, for the first time, Blanca breaks her silence.
This is not just another retelling of the Murdaugh saga. This is the untold story from someone who was there—who saw what happened behind closed doors, who heard the conversations that were never meant to be repeated, who witnessed the slow collapse of a family empire built on lies and maintained through fear.
From the shocking double murders that made international headlines to the decades of financial fraud that defrauded vulnerable victims, from the suspicious deaths that were too quickly ruled accidents to the courtroom drama that riveted millions, Blanca provides unprecedented access to the intimate details that only an insider could know.
With unflinching honesty and remarkable courage, she reveals how a family that once seemed untouchable fell from grace, how justice was delayed but not denied, and how the truth—no matter how deeply buried—eventually finds its way to the surface.
This is a story of loyalty and betrayal, of power and its ultimate price, of one woman's decision to finally tell the truth, no matter the cost. In the house of Murdaugh, every room held a secret. Blanca Turrubiate-Simpson is ready to unlock them all.

Adam Smith - A Very Short...

In 1776 Adam Smith (1723-90) wrote The Wealth of Nations, a book so foundational that it has led to him being called the "father of economics." Today he is associated with the promotion of self-interest, a defense of greed and a criticism of any governmental "interference" in market transactions which, if left to the "invisible hand," will produce prosperity and liberty. Yet if Smith is actually read these associations are more a caricature than a faithful portrait.

In this Very Short Introduction, Christopher Berry offers a balanced and nuanced view of this seminal thinker, embedding his fierce defense of free trade, competition, and assault on special interests in contemporary European history, politics, and philosophy. As Berry explores, Smith was more than an economist. In addition to his two major works he also wrote a pioneering study of the history of astronomy as an illustration of the motivations that drive humans to seek answers to questions. He produced, again derived from his Glasgow classroom, an analysis of the development of grammar and language. As Christopher Berry shows, Adam Smith was no narrow thinker, but rather one who produced not only one of the greatest books in the history of social science, but also a wide-ranging body of work that remains significant today.
