Synopsis

Plato's The Republic is more than an ancient text—it is a timeless journey into the heart of justice, truth, and the human soul. Across its pages, Socrates challenges friends, rivals, and readers alike with questions that still ignite debate today: Why be just when injustice seems profitable? Who should rule, and how can society avoid corruption? Are we living in truth, or chained to shadows of illusion? From the provocative Ring of Gyges to the visionary Allegory of the Cave, Plato leads us from everyday moral puzzles to a dazzling cosmic vision where justice becomes harmony within both society and the soul. Whether you see it as a utopia, a warning, or a philosophical adventure, The Republic speaks with startling relevance to our fractured world, daring us to rethink leadership, freedom, education, and the meaning of a good life. This is not just philosophy—it is a dramatic invitation to step out of the cave, seek wisdom, and discover justice as the foundation of true happiness.

We broke our new series on learning Chinese [Mandarin] down into different learning stages. Start with the "Lower Beginner" books followed by the "Beginner" and "Upper Beginner" books. Next, progress to the "Intermediate" series, then test and reinforce your knowledge with the "Conversations" series.
This audiobook is divided into units. While it provides different learning patterns and accommodates various needs, this audiobook focuses on helping you improve your ability to understand, speak, and memorise Chinese [Mandarin].
In Unit 1 you will hear Chinese [Mandarin] decoded with each syllable spoken very slowly and clearly with repetition. Immediately before each sentence is spoken, you will hear the translation, so you will always understand what is being said.
Unit 2 focuses solely on increasing your listening ability, which will improve your abilities to engage in dialogue with a native Chinese [Mandarin] speaker. This chapter requires you to listen very carefully to nuances in the language.
By Unit 3 you will already notice progress in your abilities to speak and understand Chinese [Mandarin]. The spoken translation is followed by two repetitions in Chinese [Mandarin] at a completely natural speed. While you are learning to process naturally spoken Chinese [Mandarin], Units 3 and 4 will help you memorise new vocabulary and full sentences.
In Unit 5 you can test yourself on how much you have learned. If you are having difficulties, we suggest you revisit the listening, speaking, or memorisation section of Units 1, 2 3 or 4, according to what you need more help with.

"Seth Kantner illuminates an Alaska most of us will never know." —Andrea Barrett, author of Ship Fever

When Seth Kantner's Ordinary Wolves was published it was a literary revelation of sorts. In a raw, stylized voice it told the story of a white boy growing up with homesteading parents in Arctic Alaska and trying to reconcile his largely subsistence and Native-style upbringing with the expectations and realities tied to his race. It hit numerous bestseller lists, was critically acclaimed, and won a number of awards.

Seth's nonfiction second book, the memoir Shopping for Porcupine, was even more compelling for many—the same raw details of a homesteading upbringing, but intensely personal. Now, in Swallowed by the Great Land, he once again brings us into his lyrical wilderness existence.

Swallowed by the Great Land features slice-of-life essays that further reveal the duality in the author's own life today, and also in the village and community that he inhabits—a mosaic of all life on the tundra. Unique characters, village life, wilderness and the larger landscape, a warming Arctic, and hunting and other aspects of subsistence living are all explored in varied yet intimate stories.

An MDLG and ABDL themed love story for the age play fetishist.
Please note: This book contains content only appropriate for individuals interested in the MDLG subgroup of BDSM. It includes kink related themes, psychological power-play both sexual and non-sexual, sub training in diaper wetting, punishment by bondage, spankings, butt plug, and genital teasing.
The story is a work of fiction, and although based on multiple personal experiences, Tina Moore does not assume to speak for the entire community. She also believes that the kink is as broad and diverse as the consenting adults who engage in it, and thus there is not a ‘correct’ way to be a consenting adult involved in age play and/or regression.
Tina Moore would like to thank all her loyal, supportive, and loving fans. She wishes you every happiness and success and hopes that you stay safe, calm, and healthy.
Leila knew that life could be better, but she had no idea it could be this good! "The preparation of this book has not been with any idea of self-glory. It is just a message to the white race; to bring my people before their eyes in a true and authentic manner. The American Indian has been written about by hundreds of authors of white blood or possibly by an Indian of mixed blood who has spent the greater part of his life away from a reservation. These are not in a position to write accurately about the struggles and disappointments of the Indian. Therefore, I trust that in reading the contents of this book the public will come to a better understanding of us. I hope they will become better informed as to our principles, our knowledge, and our ability. It is my desire that all people know the truth about the first Americans and their relations with the United States Government."

Borders are not just meaningless geographical lines. They have an impact on all of our lives, whether it's the fallout from Brexit or the inhumanity of a detention center. In Border Nation, Leah Cowan shows how borders are violent, oppressive, and must be resisted. Looking back, we learn of the elitist, colonial, and patriarchal origins of borders, explore the vital history of anti-racist, anti-border organizing and hear stories from people who have crossed partitions. Debunking myths around migration, Leah Cowan unpacks the 'hostile environment' and reveals how healthcare crises, terrorism, unemployment, and housing shortages are often manipulated by politicians and the media to vilify migrants. As borders grow, migrants are policed, and immigration controls are tightened, this book transforms our understanding of borders, migration, and our fight for belonging.
