“Davy Crockett buffs, Tennessee bibliophiles, genealogists, folklorists, historians, and the general reader should find this carefully researched and authoritative edition, which extricates the man from the myth, a valuable addition to the frontier history, biography, and literature of Tennessee and America.”
–Robert E. Dalton, Tennessee Historical Quarterly.

“This book. . . will go a long way toward separating the myths that grew up around Crockett and the actual facts. This will enable the reader to acquire a greater appreciation for this long-neglected Tennessean.”
–Sarah McMahon, Historical Review and Antique Digest

Authored in 1834 by David Crockett (1786–1836), with some editorial assistance from his congressional colleague from Kentucky, Thomas Chilton, the Narrative of the Life of David Crockett of the State of Tennessee is one of the most significant documents of the American pioneer experience in the first half of the nineteenth century. It describes the author's life from his first memories in eastern Tennessee through his progressive moves westward, his participation in the Creek War, his hunting experiences, and his political service in the Tennessee House of Representatives and the U.S. Congress. The book closes with Crockett's reelection to his final term in Congress (1833–1835), shortly before his fateful journey to Texas and his death at the Alamo in 1836.

This book consists of the following titles:
    - Ludwig Wittgenstein: Ludwig Wittgenstein, one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century, profoundly shaped modern thought, particularly in the realms of language, logic, and the philosophy of mind. His philosophy spans two distinct periods, marked by an evolution in his views on the relationship between language, meaning, and reality. Wittgenstein’s work challenges the way we think about and use language, positing that philosophical problems often arise from misunderstandings of language and its limitations.
    - Martha Nussbaum: Martha Nussbaum is one of the most influential philosophers of our time, particularly known for her contributions to feminist theory, political philosophy, and ethics. A professor at the University of Chicago, her work spans a wide array of topics including justice, human capabilities, human rights, and the role of emotions in moral decision-making. Nussbaum’s ideas have significantly impacted both academic philosophy and practical policy, with her innovative theories offering valuable insights into the intersection of ethics, politics, and human development.
    - Bertrand Russell: Bertrand Russell, born on May 18, 1872, in Trellech, Monmouthshire, Wales, was a British philosopher, logician, mathematician, and social critic. Coming from a prominent aristocratic family, with his grandfather, Lord John Russell, having served as a British Prime Minister, Russell had an influential upbringing. He attended Cambridge University, where he studied under Alfred North Whitehead, a notable logician and philosopher. Russell was deeply influenced by the works of Gottlob Frege and David Hilbert.

Is anger getting in the way of the life you want? Do you lash out at others, or experience uncontrollable rages that hurt your relationships or damage your career? When you feel angry, do you also experience unpleasant or even frightening physical sensations such as a rapid heartbeat, shaking, or sweating? If so, your anger may be caused by unresolved past trauma. In order to effectively manage your anger, you must first treat the root cause.
Grounded in somatic and attachment-focused EMDR (SAFE), this book offers a self-guided, trauma-informed approach to help you heal and move past unresolved trauma using bilateral tapping—a simple technique that stimulates the right and left sides of the brain to help the body achieve a more restful, balanced state. By addressing the root of your anger—instead of repressing it—you’ll gain greater control over intense emotions, regulate your nervous system, improve your relationships, and build a more peaceful life.
Unresolved trauma can keep you stuck in a vicious cycle of anger, rage, and frustration. But you can heal the wounds of the past and build a more peaceful life. This compassionate, step-by-step guide will show you how.

The free market and capitalism have long been foundational principles of economic systems around the world. At their core, they represent the idea that economic decisions, such as production, investment, and distribution, should be guided by the forces of supply and demand with minimal government intervention. In a truly free market, goods and services are exchanged in a competitive environment where prices are determined by the collective actions of consumers and producers rather than by central planning or state control.
Capitalism, as an economic system, emerged during the early stages of the Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its roots trace back even further to mercantilist policies that prioritized trade and accumulation of wealth through colonial ventures. Over time, capitalism has evolved from simple trade systems to complex global markets, driven by the desire for profit and the expansion of economic activities. The central tenet of capitalism is the pursuit of self-interest, where individuals or organizations are motivated to create wealth by competing in open markets.
This system offers several advantages, such as fostering innovation, encouraging efficiency, and enabling individuals to accumulate wealth. By allowing businesses and entrepreneurs to operate freely, capitalism encourages the creation of new products, services, and technologies, which in turn leads to economic growth and increased standards of living. Moreover, the competitive nature of free markets ensures that resources are allocated efficiently, as businesses strive to meet consumer demands at the lowest cost.
