Synopsis

The Witches never failed to extract a price somehow. When Cross stumbles drunkenly into a darkened Berlin theatre that is staging Hamlet, he does not expect to see Morgana le Fay on stage as Queen Gertrude or witness a real murder. But a deadly ghost is haunting the faerie queen’s plays and Morgana expects Cross to solve the mystery or risk his daughter, Amelia, becoming the next victim. With the fate of Amelia in the balance Cross tries to unravel a mystery that takes him to libraries outside of time, into battles alongside an undead Christopher Marlowe and to bargaining with the real Witches of Macbeth. But is the play the thing, or is there something far older haunting Shakespeare’s famous work?

Don't miss the BRAND NEW dark and twisted psychological thriller from bestseller M. A. Hunter. If you love T.M. Logan, The Girl on the Train and No One Saw A Thing you'll love this book! 📚'Scarily good!' - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Valerie Keogh
No good deed... goes unpunished. 👀
I first saw her on the platform on my way home from work a few weeks ago. She had an aura about her that made people stop and stare. Then I saw her again. And again. Our twice weekly commute into London Waterloo insync. She was always so poised, so pretty, so perfect.
    Everything I’m not.
In my head, her name's Lucia, and she’s a glamorous catwalk model from Milan who commutes from Winchester to attend casting calls in the city. But this morning she’s late, barely making the train as the doors close. She doesn’t take her usual seat, instead staying close to the doors...
Then it hits me – she looks terrified.
I feel compelled to help her, and against my better judgement I stand up and move towards her. It's then the illusion crumbles. Her name's not Lucia, but Allie. Not a model, but a woman in dire need of help. She tells me she's in danger, that she's done something dreadful and I don't know why I do it, but I promise to keep her safe.
    But I shouldn't make promises I know I can't keep.
Because my life isn't as picture perfect as I like to pretend, and I can't stop wondering if maybe I'm not the only one pretending...

Spain, 1936. A democracy shattered. Loyalties divided. Chaos reigns.
In the gripping fourth installment of The Addlestone Chronicles, British secret agents James and Louise Harcourt-Heath, along with Donald and Beatrice Hutchinson, venture into the heart of a nation engulfed by civil war. Their mission: to discreetly observe and report on a conflict that threatens not only Spain but the stability of all Europe.
As battles rage between the democratically elected Republicans and General Franco’s insurgent Nationalists, the agents find themselves navigating a landscape of deception, danger, and political intrigue. Britain’s official neutrality masks a deep unease over the potential repercussions: a fascist victory in Spain could tip the entire continent into darkness and threaten critical British territories, including Gibraltar.
Brimming with vivid historical detail and relentless suspense, this novel brings the tense political landscape of 1930s Europe dramatically to life. As echoes of the past resound ominously in our modern political climate, readers will be compelled to ask: Could history be repeating itself?
