Synopsis

Bellamy slid off the high stool, walked unsteadily to the window and stood swaying on his heels looking down at the snow, on Conduit Street. The bar-tender mixed himself a whisky and soda and began to polish the chromium counter. Bellamy turned, and leaned against the window, looking at the bar-tender.He was tall, slim and dark. He looked immaculate although his quiet grey suit was old. There were circles under his eyes. He looked very tired, slightly depraved. His big brown eyes were dull.He said in a low, rather hoarse and attractive voice: “Why doesn’t anybody come in here? Has Mr. March been in, Sydney?”He began to walk towards the bar.

Fear doesn’t always come from monsters, shadows, or things that stalk the night.

Sometimes, it comes from what you already know—your phone lighting up at 2 a.m., a reflection that doesn’t move quite right, an elevator that stops without explanation, or a familiar grocery aisle that suddenly looks wrong.

In The Fear Hidden in Everyday Life, Amulya Mishra unravels the subtle horrors woven into daily routines. Through gripping narrative moments and grounded psychological insight, each chapter explores how tiny anomalies—a delayed notification, an unexplained laugh through the wall, a machine that won’t turn off—can disturb the delicate balance of what we trust about our world.

Drawn directly from relatable life triggers such as late-night messages, silent elevators, and mismatched reflections

    the-fear-hidden-in-everyday-lif…

, this audiobook transforms believable situations into unforgettable dread.

    These are not supernatural tales.

They are horrors born from realism—moments you’ve lived, questions you’ve ignored, and the eerie feeling that something is slightly… off.

    You’ll discover:

Why everyday moments can spark disproportionate fear
How perception, memory, and attention create dread
Practical insights into the psychology behind subtle terror
Stories and analyses that blur the line between the ordinary and the unsettling

If you enjoy grounded psychological horror—stories that feel real because they could be—this audiobook will stay with you long after the final chapter ends.
