  Mom's behavior is predictable: she will travel to an exchange office to exchange her hard-earned rubles for Norwegian krone.  
  However, there was no crown at this exchange office since they did not deliver for some reason.  
  Then your mother was offered to purchase American cash - dollars rather than Norwegian kroner. Mom is perplexed: "I have bucks, but I don't want to travel to America for the promenade, but to my buddy in Norway!" And they explain to her: It's nothing - you'll exchange your dollars for Norwegian krone at the exchange office in Norway and enjoy life much more... 
    
  And, although your uncle did not travel anywhere he did not plan to, he has additional money.  
  So, my uncle predicted that the Swiss franc would rise against the ruble, so he went to the exchange office and simply exchanged Swiss francs for rubles, hoping that the rate would rise and his ruble savings would rise as well. Uncle, in other words, opted to speculate on the currency differential.

  Toxicology, the study of poisons and their effects on living organisms, has deep historical roots dating back thousands of years. The earliest civilizations recognized the dangers of certain substances and documented their effects, often intertwining them with myths, medicine, and warfare. The origins of toxicology can be traced to ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome, where early scholars and physicians laid the groundwork for what would eventually become a scientific discipline. 
  Ancient Egyptian texts, such as the Ebers Papyrus (circa 1550 BCE), contain some of the earliest references to poisons, including plant-based toxins and venomous animal bites. Egyptian priests and physicians were aware of toxic substances, both as medicinal agents and as potential means of assassination. Similarly, Mesopotamian records describe the use of poisons in both healing practices and criminal activities. 
  In ancient Greece, the philosopher and physician Hippocrates (circa 460–370 BCE) discussed the effects of poisons and the importance of dosage in determining whether a substance was harmful or beneficial. His work influenced later Greek and Roman physicians, including Dioscorides, a first-century CE pharmacologist who compiled De Materia Medica, an extensive guide to medicinal and poisonous substances derived from plants, animals, and minerals. The Greek philosopher Theophrastus (circa 371–287 BCE) also contributed to early toxicology by documenting the properties of various poisonous plants.

  The universe is vast, filled with mysteries that challenge our understanding of reality. Among these, dark matter stands out as one of the most elusive and significant components of the cosmos. It is an invisible force that cannot be seen directly, yet it exerts a profound influence on the structure and behavior of galaxies, stars, and the universe as a whole. This chapter delves into the concept of dark matter, exploring its nature, how it was first theorized, and why it remains one of the most intriguing puzzles in modern physics and astronomy. 
  Dark matter was first proposed as a solution to an anomaly in the way galaxies rotate. In the 1930s, astronomer Fritz Zwicky observed that galaxies in the Coma Cluster were moving much faster than expected, based on the visible matter in those galaxies. He suggested the existence of an unseen mass, which he called "dark matter," to account for the gravitational pull that would explain these high speeds. This groundbreaking idea, however, was met with skepticism at the time. Over the decades that followed, evidence continued to accumulate, pointing to the presence of dark matter in the universe. 
  Dark matter is not something we can detect with traditional instruments because it does not emit, absorb, or reflect light. It is essentially invisible to electromagnetic radiation, which makes it very different from the ordinary matter that makes up stars, planets, and everything we can see in the universe. Despite its invisibility, dark matter’s presence is inferred through its gravitational effects on visible matter. For example, when we observe the rotation of galaxies, the stars at the outer edges are moving faster than they should, based on the amount of visible matter in the galaxy. This suggests that there is additional mass, unseen but detectable through its gravitational pull, holding these galaxies together.
