Beschreibung

Desolation's Abomination – The Antichrist will demand worship from everyone on the planet (Rev. 13). This is the abomination that will bring about enormous desolation.

This image will be given the ability to breathe and speak by a demon (Rev. 13:14-15). When the Antichrist places this idol in the Jerusalem temple, he will claim to be God. Without worshiping the Antichrist in front of this image, no one will be able to purchase or trade (Rev. 13:16-18). Those who resist will be hunted down as state criminals and face martyrdom.

The abomination of desolation system, which will mobilize and finance the Antichrist's global worship movement (Rev. 13:13-18), will include the image of the Beast and the mark of the Beast. Antichrist's adherents will be mobilized by the Beast's visage, and those who resist will be punished. The Beast's mark will offer financial support for the Antichrist's worship movement while punishing those who refuse.

The word "advent" comes from the Latin word adventus, which meaning "arrival," "coming," or "presence." Both the first and second comings of Jesus are referred to as the first and second advent.

How to Study the Old Testament for Signs of Christ
Believers read Scripture to follow Christ and deepen their relationship with him. But since a majority of the Bible was written before Jesus's life and death on the cross, many people rely on the Old Testament for historical context and moral guidance alone. However, when studied in detail, we see how even the Old Testament reveals Christ as the center of God's plan for redemption.
Biblical Typology examines how the Old Testament foreshadows Christ, the church, and the consummation through types—or symbols—pointing toward fulfillment. Well-known for his academic yet accessible writing, Vern S. Poythress not only provides examples of types and analogies found in God's word but also teaches readers a practical framework and diagram for effectively examining them throughout Scripture. Readers will learn how to identify and interpret biblical typology for themselves as they deepen their understanding of the Bible and the wisdom of God.

    - Great for Bible Teachers: Teaches pastors, Bible study leaders, and thoughtful lay people how to effectively study biblical typology in the Old Testament
    - Practical How-To: Not only examines Scripture for examples of Christ in the Old Testament but teaches how readers can find types for themselves
    - Uses Helpful Tools: Introduces a practical framework and diagram to effectively interpret typology within the Old Testament
    - Academic yet Accessible: Written by scholar, professor, and author Vern S. Poythress

Understanding Islam's sacred text is integral to understanding your Muslim neighbor. Cross-cultural missionary and scholar Matthew Aaron Bennett blends the insights of Islamic believers, secular Qur'an scholars, and missionaries to Muslims, making The Qur'an and the Christian like no other resource for Christian ministry to Muslims. Combining these perspectives in one guide better equips Christians to communicate the biblical gospel to friends and neighbors who are adherents to Islam—both in and out of majority-Muslim cultures.

The Qur'an and the Christian addresses issues both simple and profound, such as: how the Qur'an came to be, including Muhammed and the Qur'an's textual precursors; the major themes of the Qur'an and how these shape the practice of Islam; the presence of Bible characters, Jews, and Christians in the Qur'anic text; whether and how a Christian should read the Qur'an; and avoiding miscommunication with Muslims when the Qur'an and Christian teaching seem to overlap.

This book will help Christians learn how to explore Islamic faith with missiological wisdom and biblical precision. The Qur'an and the Christian will give believers the insight to deepen friendships, promote understanding, and clarify the biblical gospel among Muslim friends and neighbors.

There's no way other women are struggling sexually like I am. Who could I even talk to about this? Isn't this a guy's issue? For too long, Christian women have assumed they’re outliers in their sexual struggles. This assumption (along with shame) often keeps them silent, leaving them to face the battle all by themselves. But if any of this sounds familiar, you’re not the only one. Whether your struggles take the form of masturbation, pornography, same sex attraction, or sexual fantasies, it’s not just you. These temptations are common not only for men in the church, but many women, too. So how do we fight against sexual sin as women? What do we do when there’s a disconnect between what the Bible says and how we live and feel? Or, if we lead a woman struggling in this way, how do we aid her in the battle? Written from the trenches of ministering to young women, young adult minister Ashley Chesnut explores why sexual sin is “sin” in the first place, what sex really is, and how Scripture speaks into topics like masturbation, oral sex, and sex robots—even when those words aren’t found in the Bible. God has already won the war against sin, and as you examine His Word along with Ashley, you’ll be equipped to battle against sexual sin and to aid other sisters in the fight. No, it’s not just you. And yes, you can take steps toward victory. Right now.

We live in a possession and money obsessed culture. The normal American has far more than they need, yet still feel incredibly insecure, needing to grasp it all tightly and continue to gain more. This isn’t just true with our acquisition of things, but also in the way we approach all resources that God has given to us: our time, gifts and talents, our families, and our lives themselves. What is the solution to this problem? Throughout Gospel Generosity you will see how the answer to our obsession with possessions is turning to the Gospel. It's only in the Gospel can we find the type of life transformation that enables us to turn our focus from ourselves to others, to give generously, and follow the way of Christ. God has modeled generosity throughout redemptive history, culminating in the gift of His Son, and this sacrificial generosity is the basis of true gospel generosity. Listeners of this book will be called to consider all of their resources and gifts from God that are to be held loosely, ready to be used for God’s purposes. Everything is His anyway. Gospel generosity is simply giving that is rooted in the saving work of Jesus Christ. It is the Christian’s joyful awareness of what Christ has done for them and how they are privileged to participate in proclaiming that work through giving and advancing the Gospel. Generosity sprouts from the Gospel and bears fruit for the Gospel. In Gospel Generosity you will explore topics such as: Giving is an issue of our heart, health, and service to God; Tithing is not a required practice of New Testament believers; The Kingdom of God calls Christians to humility, selflessness, and fidelity in giving; Called by Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, Christians give generously as an act of Grace to others until Jesus returns.

A King’s Ranger, a secret patriot, and a love that calls everything into question.

As a King’s Ranger on Georgia's frontier, Ansel Anderson loves his independent life. But he’s also a second son, which means he’ll need the favor of someone influential to secure a land grant to settle his future. What better way to win support than by marrying the daughter of a member of the Governor's Council? Yet Ansel's straightforward plan is complicated by Miss Scott's aloofness and his own growing sympathy for the passionate cause of the Liberty Boys.

As drawn to the enigmatic Ansel Anderson as Temperance Scott might be, he’d be more of a match for her feisty twin sister—who is all too happy to oblige. Not only would timid, nearsighted Temperance make a poor wife for a man trained for life on the frontier, but anyone she allows close to her must share her secret patriot ideals.

When Savannah erupts into riots and intrigue following the passage of the Stamp Act, Ansel is tasked with identifying a spy passing sensitive information to the Liberty Boys and the author of anonymous letters threatening those loyal to the governor. And as suspicions focus on the Scott family, which is he prepared to sacrifice—love or loyalty?
