Synopsis

When Carly Green's teenage son Nathan runs away after a family confrontation, her already fragile world begins to crumble. Her marriage to Pastor Rick is on the verge of collapse, her youngest son Benny struggles with developmental challenges, and the church community she once considered family now feels like strangers.

As Carly searches for Nathan, she must confront the painful secrets that have shaped her life—from her strained relationship with her husband to the decades-long rivalry with his childhood friend Keri Ann, a woman whose connection to Rick runs deeper than Carly ever imagined.

Set against the backdrop of a small church community in upstate New York, "There is a River" weaves between past and present to tell a powerful story of betrayal, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal. When Carly believes she sees a mysterious figure in a boat on the Niagara River, it sets in motion a journey that will either tear her family apart forever or lead them to unexpected healing.

With authentic characters and unflinching honesty about the complexities of faith, marriage, and parenting, this moving novel explores how God's grace can transform even the most broken relationships and bring light to the darkest corners of human experience.

If you enjoyed "Redeeming Love," "The Shack," and "The Memory Keeper's Daughter," you'll love "There is a River."

We need Christians trained in apologetics now more than ever. In a chaotic world where many people claim to have their own truth, Christians have been given the unshakable truth that comes from God alone. But simply knowing it isn't enough. The task of apologetics belongs to all believers, to "make a defense to anyone who asks" (1 Peter 3:14). Although the call is clear, it can be difficult to know where to start.

This comprehensive survey delves into key teachings about our faith, providing pearls of wisdom along the way to help us remember the heart of the matter. Ron Rhodes shares a wealth of straightforward, biblical answers to the questions and issues of our day, addressing: the nature of truth—absolute truth versus relative truth; hermeneutics—the principles of interpreting the Bible rightly; Christian ethics—including controversial topics such as abortion, suicide, and divorce; alleged contradictions in the Bible; and challenging questions unbelievers ask about God and Christianity.

Fortify your own understanding of God's Word and God's world—from intelligent design to the prophetic future—and let the truths contained in this book equip you for meaningful, effective, and gracious conversations with others.

    Recovery Church - His Story
How our stories became God stories. How thousands of men and women found faith and recovery.
The Holy Spirit wrote the vision of Recovery Church on the hearts of strangers from across the country and then formed this rag-tag group into a family. The story of Recovery Church is His Story. The story of how a Holy God went through extravagant measures to reach junkies, drunks, crackheads, outcasts, sinners, wayward children, the lepers of today, us. From physicians, ministers, teachers, veterans, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, homeless, rich, poor, and every race, our growing fellowship is united in our shared solution through Jesus.
We have grown from just an idea to an increasing network of Recovery Churches, and now to the groanings of a movement. We now hold to a God-sized vision. We are witnessing God raising up disciple-makers within the recovery community and starting, planting, and reproducing Recovery Churches. People who were lost in their addictions, who everyone thought the last chapter had been written, have seen God change the narrative. Stories of destruction have become His Stories of redemption. We now have the vision to see a Recovery Church in every city in this nation and beyond. We believe nothing will bring God more honor than for all the world to hear how a Holy God profoundly loved and pursued this group of addicts and alcoholics. We believe each story in this book is so miraculous that it is undeniably God at work. This is His Story of Recovery Church.

The purpose of the book of Amos was to announce God’s holy judgment on the Kingdom of Israel (the Northern Kingdom), call them to repentance, and to turn from their self-righteous sins and idolatry. God raised up the prophet Amos, as an act of His great mercy to a people who repeatedly shunned and disobeyed Him.
